Kylie Edmond
Sunshine Smitten Rocker
Being an Aussie girl, now living and writing in the fabulously crazy NYC, Kylie Edmond looks to the sun, the beach and all things glorious for inspiration. Originally from sunny Perth, Western Australia, she came to NYC in search of inspiration and adventure. New York has since become Kylie's home and muse.
So, she moved to NYC and had a few cultural differences to deal with like using the words “flip flop” instead of “thong”, people thinking she's from Sweden or Texas (seriously), and trying to give it a red hot go in one of the coolest, but toughest markets in the world. And it’s affected Kylie as a songwriter and human in so many ways.
Recently Kylie performed for the SESAC Writers on the Storm showcase for up and coming talent, and was twice featured as a Spotlight Member with the Songwriter's Guild of America. Notable NYC venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Baggot Inn, The Bitter End, Parkside Lounge, Banjo Jim's and Waltz-Astoria have been filled with Kylie's sunshine. In January she signed with music publishing company Missing Link Music.
But at the end of the day, you can take a girl from Australia, but you can’t take Australia out of the girl. And you can give an Aussie a flip flop, but it's still a thong.
Kylie's songs remind many of endless summer days, the beach and sunshiney smiles.
.. although galia feels weird writing a bio in 3rd person, she’s heard that it looks more professional. galia writes songs about boys and a few others things, and then sings them. she is from bloomington, indiana where her heart really is, but hopes that someday she can say the same about new york city. she is obsessed with her family and she is never ever bored. she hopes you love her music as much as she loves the boys she writes about. she’s kidding about the boys- she thinks bio writing is awkward and just wants to break the ice by making bad jokes. she has toured ireland, and plays venues all over new york city such as red lion, the bitter end, rockwood music hall, H.I. new york, ace of clubs, etc. she has also toured Japan where she not only gigged, but was the first place winner of a sake chugging contest and runner up of a wet kimono contest. as for her less impressive accomplishments, she is the winner of Songwriter Hall of Fame's Abe Olman award and winner of The Great American Song competition. galia, with much noise, has also caught the attention of one of her music idols, Shane MacGowan (from The Pogues), who wrote the liner notes for her upcoming (sophomore) album and will also be producing a couple tracks on it. "Shane and i actually have a lot in common," Galia says incoherently, while sipping her twelfth gin and tonic, "we both like my music. and we both really like johnny depp." galia will change this bio tomorrow and learn to act more confident and professional, hopefully also by tomorrow.
NYC born Kelsey Rauber moved to Switzerland at a very young age with her (Swiss) Dad, her (American) Mom and older sister. At 10 she wrote her first song and at 14 she performed in front of the entire Bezirksschule Bremgarten for a graduation ceremony. After receiving a standing ovation (knowing that Swiss are very straight forward... even brutally honest people), she knew that music was her calling.
Kelsey is back in NYC pursuing her dream of songwriting, performing and audio engineering. Her songs are about real life experiences of love, heartache and happiness with a mellow pop feel.
Athena is originally from Toronto, but is now based out of New York City. She has just released her 5th CD, LITTLE GIRL DREAMS, produced by the Emmy/Grammy Winning Cynthia Daniels. Athena’s music is storytelling pop, and can be compared to Annie Lennox, Regina Spektor, and a wilder version of Sarah McLauchlan. She has shared the stage with Sarah McLachlan, Janeane Garafalo, Nellie McKay, Jim Carrey, Lisa Loeb & more. Athena has toured across North America, been featured on CNN, the History Channel, PBS & more, and wrote the theme song for the TV pilot Living In Captivity, (theme song animated by Emily Hubley from Hedwig & the Angry Inch). Most recently, Athena appeared in an Advil commercial (singing “Little Girl Dreams”), and on the Food Network on $12 Challenge. Athena is known for her haunting melodies, bold storytelling, and outright silliness. Audience members have been known to pee their pants with laughter...
In a musical landscape that’s grown exponentially hostile to artists of substance, Jessica Labus is the newest singer/songwriter to join a fray of musicians with a love of art, a folk-pop spirit, and an honest, no-nonsense disposition.
All of these qualities converge on her striking debut, the entirely self-penned Mirrors, an opus of storytelling that reveals a reality about the human condition—it could be her own, a past lover’s, a family member’s, even that of someone she just met.
Labus can’t help it. She’s too honest to sugarcoat things, too forthright to lace her artistry with softballs or pat answers. She likes to call it as she sees it.
“Things stand out to different people,” Labus, 23, says. “When you experience something that’s really true and real and honest, whether it’s visual act or musical, it just attracts the soul.”
The songs on Mirrors attract the soul. The product of a tunesmith wise beyond her years, each composition is a look into Labus’ almost analytical way of communicating truth, warts and all—truth that hurts, truth that sets people free.
Melissa captivated the audience at her GRTN audition with her ukulele backed version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and was met with shouts of encore from the crowd, which she graciously obliged. Melissa has been playing the violin since the age of 6. Since then, she has become proficient at piano, guitar, mandolin, accordion, ukulele and assorted percussion instruments.
Jennings is the one-name moniker of NYC based siren Mary Jennings. Standing five feet, one inch tall Jennings is small in stature, her music however, is anything but. Drawing influences from artists like Imogen Heap, Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan and Moby, Jennings’ music reflects an enormous strength and drive that is uniquely hers. “I believe that the difference between an artist and the average person is a fearless and relentless willingness to expose their quarks, oddities, secrets, and passions for all of the world to see and hear.” said Mary.
Mary’s surge in musical expression started after the sudden death of her mother.“This tragedy rocked me to the core, but there is so much beauty in what it allowed me to do,” she says. “All of my emotions came pouring out in the form of melody.” At the time, her father, a former musician, gave her the option to go through therapy or record an album. He knew both would be equally helpful to her, but by recording her music, she would be able to have something to hold on to and share with others for a lifetime.
Former Elektra recording artist Anna Troy’s sound is difficult to pigeonhole. Her music can take excursions into rock, pop and soul with blues and R&B as a foundation. “I don’t limit myself to one genre,” she said. “I just play whatever style of music seems to be working for me and inspiring me at the moment. I want my music to be soulful, with songs that people will remember because of a catchy phrase and melody or intriguing lyrical content.”
For those who have been waiting for Anna Troy to reach the promise she has shown since she first began hitting San Diego’s stages as a teenager or for those who thought her previous efforts would be hard to top: her album “Wait Another Day” & amazing performances in her new base, NYC, not only deliver, but confirms Troy is a major talent to watch.
NYC based songwriter Robert Daniels is from Mahopac, NY. He is a member of the Songwriters Guild and the Nashville Songwriters Association. Robert performs country, rock and blues and does a mix of original songs and popular covers while simultaneously keeping you all entertained. We don't know how he does it.
Check out this amazing singer and multi-instrumentalist. Canadian born William Rottman, was a child prodigy and at age seven was already featured in the local media playing drums. At 12 he was playing guitar and bass. William's new 11-track disc entitled "After So Long" is finally here and his songs are ready to lick your eardrums and send shivers down your spine. His voice has been compared to Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Pat Monahan (Train), Sting and James Taylor. Willam has toured with Maverick/Custard recording artist Ben Jelen as a background singer and guitarist, appeared on the "CBS Late, Late Show" and the NBC hit TV drama series "Las Vegas". He has been the voice of Coke, Pantene, Verizon, and Campbell's Soup, and has sung alongside Lenny Kravitz. Most recently William toured the US with Australian platinum recording artist, Shannon Noll (Sony BMG). We discovered him tearing up the NY music scene.
Ben Hope is a burgeoning singer/songwriter out of Flat Rock, North Carolina. Now he's tearing it up in NYC and recently brought a jam-packed The Bitter End to it's knees begging for more with his new band Ben Hope & The Uptown Outfit.

Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideas. They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH. ~unknown~
