MY HOMETOWN VIDEO - SCENES OF TACOMA, SCENES OF OLD SHOWS.
THE STORY OF GIRL TROUBLE...In 1964 Bon met Kahuna, her brother. Later, in 1983, Kahuna took up the guitar hed built in high school shop class. Bon bought a little drumset from the Sears surplus store. They began to play together in an old shed located next to their parents house. Kahuna played one string and Bon played pretty much as she does today. School friend, Dale Phillips, decided to come over and play his fake Fender bass. The new trio practiced for a few months until they decided it would be a lot easier on everyone if somebody else could sing. They looked through all the possibilities and noticed that K.P. Kendall was taking over as self-appointed Master of Ceremonies at every party they attended. This was exactly the frontman they needed to keep everybody entertained while Kahuna changed broken guitar strings.
TWENTY-THREE YEARS LATER...the same four people are Girl Trouble. After tons of releases on as many indie labels; shows in every punk dive in the Northwest; tours of the US, Canada and Europe; and publication of the fanzine Wig Out, their long climb on the stairway to stardom is not over yet...at least thats what they think! Meet them now or meet them later, eventually youll have to meet them. As Girl Trouble says, Our friends are on major labels. We are on medication. For more information, please stop by the official website listed here. Thank-you...
GIRL TROUBLE AND THE MOVIES...
............
EXCRUCIATING EYEBALL: This was our own Kahuna's contribution to the Tacoma Grand's 72 Hour Film Contest. They give all 32 teams one prop (a hat), one Tacoma location, one action (dropping, tossing) and one line of dialog ("What we've got here is a failure to communicate"). This was his first entry into the contest. Kahuna made this with the help of Sam Olsen (police officer in black) and Niels Wacht (German translation and voice-over)...
FOOLISH GAMES: Here's the 72 Hour Film Competition 2008 entry from Isaac Olsen and KP Kendall (with additional material by Kris and Ericka Kendall) starring Kris and Ericka Kendall, Stu Michaels, Dick Rossetti, Ryan Anderson and Gretchen Bailey. It won "audience favorite". Check out the all-star zombie cast!
8-5-08: We lost our dear friend, Pat Bostwick, in August. Here Pat (left) hangs out with another Tacoma scenester, Kelly Mickelson. Pat was a great harmonica player, a great story teller and a greater friend. The "Commotion" song on this site is Girl Trouble and Pat on harmonica giving CCR our respect. All of Tacoma is gonna miss that guy! We love you, Pat... (photo from the Magoo's Annex myspace page)

Sleigh Ride and Blue Christmas are still up? That's like leaving the Christmas lights up on the house. Of course, then you don't have to worry about putting them back up. Have a happy 4th.
Did you notice Dick Dale took his crown off recently , only to polish it up and put it back on for a no holds barred return to the limelight? (or at least Hells Kitchen) King of Surf Guitar indeed - adding flawless South Chicago style trumpet and Drumming Guitar to his rep while crooning in between. TWAS great to see Parkland/Tacomas Gurl Trubble in fine form and performing possibly their most indelible hit "My Home Town" as a closer. Beautiful .
I'm very sorry about this, and I'll do what I can to watch out for the stuff in Oly. I can offer a red Jerry Jones Shorthorn bass to you if you need gear. It's a short scale bass similar to a danelectro. Let me know and it's yours.
thanks man, for the compliment and for hipping me to that flick. sounds like a classic indeed. I'll have to seek it out as all things Bigfoot related are right up my alley. keep rockin!!
I want to make this clear - Vengeance is the Lords , NO HANGING NO SHOOTING , NO BEATING . Dale , remember when my Mustang was hit @ that party 2 days after I got it back from being smashed in the same place ? And then it was stolen for 3 months B4 the cops found it in Des Moines ? I went through HELL Because I was stupid enough to let it eat me up - I dont know how your taking this beyond being stunned shocked - and Violated. Think GOOD thoughts not bad - you will get through this and you never know - something will turn up - My view may be Different than others - your in my prayers - I Love You
