MOVIES
I love comedies and movies that just never get old...great freakin' stories that you can watch over and over again and they remain as entertaining as the first time you saw them. All time favorites... Shawshank Redemption, Pacino:Dog Day Afternoon, And Justice for All, Godfathers I and II (Best Pacino flicks by far!). American Beauty, Swingers, GroundHog Day (I can watch this over and over...no pun intended, ha!), Shakespeare in Love (come on, this is not a chick flick..it was a great rendition, quirky, funny and really entertaining). Tom Hanks:Forrest Gump ("I'm not a smart man..", sounds like most of my ex's, HA!), Big (he was amazing in this...you really bought that he was a kid trapped in an adult's body). Stallone:Rocky I and II, First Blood. Deniro:Goodfellas, Awakenings, A Bronx Tale, We're No Angels, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull. Will Ferrel:Most of his movies are pretty bad but you've gotta love Ferrel, he's a trip! List can go on, but these are the best.

BOOKS
My Favorites: Dragons of Eden by Carl Sagan (couldn't put this one down), Harry Potter Series, Life 101 by Peter McWilliams, Awakenings, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat and other Clinical Tales both by Oliver Sacks..love him. Me Talk Pretty One Day, Running with Scissors, Off with Their Heads by Dick Morris..love him too!
My name is Christine, I'm 36 years young, 5'1", with dark blond hair and blue eyes. Others might describe me as attractive, sexy, quick-witted, a bit sarcastic, intelligent, responsible, resilient, passionate and nurturing.
I was a Corporate Flight Attendant on private jet flights for over ten years and got to see alot of the world on someone else's dime, couldn't beat that! The flexibility of my schedule always allowed me to do what I'm really passionate about which is my volunteer work saving dogs. I have my own non-profit dog rescue where I foster, rehabilitate and rehome the very misunderstood bully breeds/pit bulls (but I have rescued and do love ALL kinds of dogs). So needless to say, anyone that meets me must like dogs and more importantly not be afraid or prejudice about pit bulls. I'm currently enjoying keeping my feet on the ground and working as a Casino waitress so I can stay closer to home and concentrate on my rescue and fostering effortsYou can learn more about pit bulls and my rescue at WWW.FORLOVEOFUNDERDOGS.COM Enjoy!
WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET?
Someone who could be my best friend and confidante. I'm looking for that old fashioned kind of relationship where we love each other, are passionate about each other and take care of each other. i.e. I'll do the laundry, the cleaning...you fix things, take out the garbage, make sure my car has oil...etc., that sort of thing. While I appreciate and respect independent and self-sufficient people, (which I certainly consider myself) I'm not looking for someone who is too self-absorbed, too "busy" to fit someone significant into their lives and is only looking for a playmate and/or something distant. If that's you, keep walking. I'd also LOVE to get the hell out of dodge, a.k.a. the Poconos, so I'm open to relocating.

That's freakin funny.....
Breed Specific Legislation is not the answer, Owner Accountabilty Legislation is. We must enact, fund and enforce laws that prohibit dangerous owner practices before they damage dogs and make them dangerous. In order to be effective and fair, dangerous dog law must be breed-neutral. To protect our communities, we must protect our dogs from cruelty. Support “zero tolerance” policies for animal abuse, animal fighting, breeding for aggression, inhumane tethering, and non-compliance with licensing and leash laws. ALL to be strictly enforced & to carry maximum penalties.
Supreme Court of New York "Scientific evidence more definitive than articles discussing the dogs’ breeding history is necessary before it is established that pit bulls, merely by virtue of their genetic inheritance are inherently vicious or unsuited for domestic living.”
Karen Delise, Author of Fatal Dog Attacks "In reviewing and studying over 448 cases of fatal dog attacks in the United States, it is apparent that the three most critical factors that contribute to a fatal dog attack are: function of the dog, owner responsibility, and reproductive status of the dog. There is no documented case where a single, neutered, household Pit Bull was the cause of a human fatality.”Delise makes a clear distinction between a “household” dog that lives within the home and has extensive social contact with family members versus a “resident dog” which is a dog that is kept chained or restrained outside of the home for purposes other than to be a household pet.
Dr. Cornelia Wagner, D.V.M.
“Blaming the genetic make-up of the dog is wrong. Environmental and learning effects are always stronger than genetic influence."
Gerald Post, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) "...this breed of dog is just like all dogs; if treated with respect, kindness and compassion, they will treat you likewise."

SELECTIVE REPORTING, like so many in the media practice, does nothing but elicit unwarranted FEAR.
Take, for instance, Dakota's story (a Pit Bull Terrier):
"Dakota began her life as a bait dog. Now she is a mission-ready search & rescue dog, honored to have been selected as one of nine elite teams to work the Columbia Shuttle disaster site. One day while working on a golf course in full-vest, Dakota was clubbed by a golfer. His explanation: 'I saw a pit bull coming at me.' " FEAR is dangerous!
And finally, Tahoe's Story (also, a Pit Bull Terrier):
"Tahoe was left to die in a dumpster. Today she is a mission-ready search dog as well as a certified therapy dog.
Kris Crawford (Tahoe's owner) and Tahoe visit sick children in Hospitals regularly. Kris says, “I got a call late one night telling me that a 5 year old boy we had been visiting was asking for Tahoe. When we arrived at the hospital I was afraid we were too late, but his Mom asked me to bring Tahoe over to the bed. Tahoe smelled the little boys hand and then this big white pit bull gently climbed up into the bed with him. His mom put the little boys arm around Tahoe....... we saw a faint smile for just a few seconds……. and then he died. Later that night in the parking lot walking to my truck a lady yelled to me, 'get that damn white monster out of here… don't you know there are small children here?' I just kept walking, with tears in my eyes saying to myself, 'I know, that’s why we were here.' " Any news story, policy or law that promotes fear and creates a fearful image is part of the problem. Partnerships like Kris and Dakota's are part of the solution!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were.
When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning
Uphill... barefoot...
BOTH ways
Yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that o n kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.
You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet.
If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue
There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen!
Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents! Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us.
As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! No where was safe!
There were no MP3' s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!
Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone.
cause that's how we rolled dig?
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!
