When I was 8 years old Isaw the most amazing drummer in the world. William Ransom was the drummer in my sisters high school jazz band, and after seeing him play I got my first pair of sticks from him. For the next year I hit anything I could with them until my mother (an ex-drummer herself) finally let me start taking drum lessons at age 9. After taking lessons for 2 years, I enrolled in music classes in junior high where I began learning how to play a drumset and joined the jazz band. In high school I enrolled in more music classes including orchestra and music theory and was invited to join American Music Abroad, a group of students from several different high schools from several different states to go on tour in Europe. After returning I joined my first band doing rock covers. Soon after I started a new band with some new friends and some new music. METAL. Spending the next few years writing, practicing, recording and playing shows, I knew I wanted to spend my life making music. After a couple of failed bands and a few too many "rock star" attitudes I decided to get a fresh start. I joined Girth in Oct. '05 and find myself playing with some of the best musicians I ever have. We are a band of musicians and a band of brothers. Playing shows has never been as much fun as it is with these guys. We pride ourselves on putting out good music and thrive on putting on vicious live shows. If you have the chance to see a Girth show, you won't forget it. Thanks to all our fans!!
