Hailing from Queensland Girth are a four piece rock out fit blending influences such as the classic rock feel reminiscent of the 70’s era with a modern approach similar to the grunge sound associated with Seattle in the mid 90’s.
Girth are Cam on (drums), Sean (guitar),, Scott (vocals/guitar) and Justin (bass).
Formed in 2005 the current line up has performed at many premier live entertainment venues throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Such places include The Hard Rock Café, Southport RSL, Coolangatta Hotel and The Living Room (Brisbane). Highlights include performing to an estimated 5000 people on Australia day Sunshine Coast 2007, supporting aussie rock legends The Celibate Rifles and featuring on ABCs ‘RAGE’ and Channel V .
Recently releasing their debut EP, a four song CD that captures the raw power of their original sound and has sold several hundred copies through self distribution, the band now aims to become a predominant figure in the Australian music industry.
The Black Stars brand new EP 'Money Or Your Life' is set for release in May through MGM/ GREEN and SugarRUSH.
Check below for April/ May tour dates, for launch shows along the East Coast including a show with HELMET (US) at The Great Northern in Byron Bay, Winnebago Deal (UK) in Bris and the Goldy, Hell Crab City in Sydney and My Left Boot in Melbourne.
