More than 350,000 family abductions occur annually in the United States. Of these, 163,000 are child abductions with the intent of concealment or transporting the child over state lines. All are always with the intent of keeping the child permanently. Such incidents injure these children both mentally, and sometimes worse yet physically; In fact, it is just another form of child abuse.

Carolee Gadsby continues to fight for these children's rights in the petitioning of a national database. This database would avail judges of custody orders and decrees in other states and other such pertinent information. Because of the astounding number, incorporating these children into the missing and exploited children's database makes no sense.
