Mi chiamo Giuseppe Lo Cascio e sono di Altavilla Milicia (PA), un piccolo paese a 20 km circa da Palermo (Sicilia). Ho vissuto da giovane negli Stati Uniti D'America a Chicago (Illinois) per poi, all'età di 14 anni, rientrare in Sicilia dove, attualmente, vivo e lavoro. Già all'età di 9 anni iniziavo a "strimpellare" con i primi accordi basilar i della mia prima chitarra elettrica, avuta in regalo da mio padre. Per diversi anni, sempre da ragazzo, sono stato membro di un gruppo bandistico locale (suonando ed apprendendo le prime nozioni delle percussioni). Ho dovuto, negli anni, soprattutto per mancanza di tempo e spazio, tralasciare la musica, per poi, riprenderla, con maggiore impegno, nell'ultimo decennio. In questo periodo, infatti, prevalentemente, d'autodidatta, ma anche con l'aiuto di un musicista violinista di Altavilla Milicia (un mio cognato), ho appurato le "vere" nozioni basilari/essenziali della musica. Mi cimento, infatti, cercando, costantemente, di perfezionarmi, con diversi strumenti musicali. Suono le percussioni (batteria), il sax tenore/contralto, la chitarra elettrica, senza tralasciare, il canto. Ultimamente, non avendo la musica confini, mi sto dedicando alla sviluppo di diversi progetti musicali inediti. In particolare, grazie, soprattutto, all'esperienza ed alla collaborazione dell'amico Filippo Di Carlo (originario di Roccapalumba), appassionato anche lui di musica, sto approfondendo il settore, molto complesso, della creazione di basi/brani musicali inediti. Insieme con il Di Carlo, abbiamo, infatti, composto alcuni brani ed altri ne abbiamo in lavorazione. Da soli, nel nostro piccolo, ma con tanta "vera" passione, abbiamo curato: la ritmica; la melodia; la lirica; l'arrangiamento; la registrazione, ecc... In relazione a questi brani, infatti, avendo ricevuto diversi consensi positivi, abbiamo deciso di metterli in circolazione, facendoli ascoltare anche agli utenti della rete Internet, interagendo con loro, avvalendoci di questo spazio. Per alcuni di detti "brani" (ovvero quelli che per noi hanno un determinato significato) abbiamo, anche, creato dei clip- video, anche questi "Home Made" da noi e/o da qualche nostro amico. In questo spazio, potete, quindi, qualora incuriositi, ascoltare, integralmente, detti brani. Mi è capitato, saltuariamente, essendo un iscritto Siae, a norma con la normativa ENPALS ed i Regolamenti in materia, di partecipare-organizzare diverse manifestazioni musicali nell'ambito locale. Inoltre, da qualche anno collaboro con il Comitato dei Festeggiamenti "Madonna della Milicia" che, insieme ai soci effettivi (con in testa l'instancabile Presidente pro-tempore), segue l'aspetto "folkloristico/organizzativo", della "Festa della Madonna della Milicia". Diverse foto, infatti, sono riferite ad eventi organizzate da detto Comitato. Non potendo diffondere "cover", per ovvi motivi di copyright, anche se mi piace molto suonare/cantare la musica di C.Santana (alla chitarra); tipico F.Papetti style al sax; Bublè/Sinatra/Amstrong/B.White cantate, abbiamo, deciso, con l'amico Di Carlo, di mettere a disposizione "dei navigatori internet", qualcosa di "nostro". Credo che la musica sia un mezzo di espressione e di comunicazione che, quotidianamente, ci circonda. Nel mi caso, a prescindere da qualsivoglia giudizio e/o considerazioni in me= rito, necessari ed indispensabili per capire se qualcosa viene fatto bene o male, ritengo che rappresenti una parte integrante della mia personalità. ----- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Joe Lo Cascio and I'm from Altavilla Milicia (PA), a small town about 20 km from Palermo (Sicily). I lived as a young boy, in United States of America in Chicago (Illinois) and then, at the age of 14 years, I returned back to Sicily where, currently, I live and work. At the age of 9 years I started to "strum" with the first chords basics of my electric guitar, received as a gift from my father. For several years, always a boy, I was member of a local band (playing and learning the first notions of percussion). I had over the years, mainly due to lack of time and space, neglecting the music, then, to resume with greater commitment, in the last decade. In this period, in fact, mostly, of self-taught, but also with the help of a real musician/violinist from Altavilla Milicia (my brother in law), I found the "real" basics/essentials of music. I struggle, in fact, trying constantly to perfect myself, with different musical instruments. Sound percussion (drums), tenor sax, electric guitar, singing. Recently, not having the music borders, I'm dedicating my time to the development of various musical projects unpublished. In particular, with the experience and collaboration of Phil Di Carlo (original from Roccapalumba (PA), that has also the same music passion, I'm deepening the sector, very complex, of creating new midi bases/unreleased songs. Together with Di Carlo, we have, in fact, composed some songs and others have in work. Alone, with "real" passion, we have created: the rhythm, melody, the lyric, arrangement, recording, etc ... In connection with these songs, in fact, having received several positive consensus, we decided to put them into circulation, making them listen to the users of the Internet, interacting with them, using this space. For some of these "unreleased songs" (those that we have a specific meaning) we have, also, created video- clips, "home made" by us and/or some friend of ours. In this page, you can, then, if curious, listen fully, those tracks. Sometimes, when it's possible to do it, being a member SIAE, in accordance with all the regulations ENPALS, I participate/organize various musical events in the l ocal environment. In addition, a few years I've been working with the Committee of the festivities "Madonna della Milicia" which, together, with the members (led by the indefatigable President pro-tempore), follows the appearance of "folk- organization", of the "Feast of Madonna of Altavilla Milicia". Several photos, in fact, related to events organized by this Committee. Not being able to spread "covers", for obvious copyright reasons, although I like playing - singing C.Santana music; F.Papetti sax style and Buble - Sinatra Amstrong's song's, we have therefore decided, with my friend Phil, to provide "Internet surfers" something of "ours". Music is something special that help's us to communicate and we find it, every single day, around us. La collaborazione artistica con Peppe, o meglio Joe, nasce per caso, sicuramente dopo aver ascoltato un CD, con degli arrangiamenti da me composti alcuni anni fa. In seguito a quell'incontro, mi propone di sviluppare un progetto musicale rivisitando i brani contenuti nel CD. In considerazione del fatto che ascoltando la sua voce, si accostava bene con il mio pensiero di cantante ho condiviso l'idea. Così iniziava la nostra cooperazione artistica e cosa più importante la nostra AMICIZIA. A proposito dei brani che avete già ascoltato o che ascolterete, come esplicitato da Joe, sono stati prodotti "In Casa", con attrezzatura di media qualità supportata da programmi di composizione di alta qualità e con tutta la nostra espressione dell'anima. In merito per quel che riguarda un pezzo, non nasce perché programmato, "cioè mi siede al pianoforte e immagino il pezzo studiando la partitura in modo da creare una melodia di tendenza" ma è frutto di un più ampio ed inconscio progetto che mi è nato dentro da chissà quanto tempo che al momento giusto nella congiuntura con lo stato d'animo ed emotivo nonché riflessivo ed espressivo, in meno di un'ora si concretizza. I'm Phil Di Carlo, an Italian composer and arranger of the songs listed on the page, I want to add something about them. The artistic collaboration with Joe is casualy, and it begin after he listened to a CD, with the arrangements made by me some years ago. Following that meeting, he proposed me to develop a musical project by reviewing the songs on that CD. In view of the fact that listening to his voice, it goes well with my thoughts I shared is idea. From that day we began our artistic cooperation and most importantly our friendship. Speaking of songs that you have already heard or will hear, as explained by Joe, they are all " home made", with medium-quality recording equipment, but high quality musical programs and with our whole soul expression. My musical arrengements are not born as planned, "I don't sit at the piano and imagine the piece by studying the score to create a melody cool", but they are the result of larger unconscioius personal project that are born in me from long time. They come out, with the mood and the right emotional expressive, in less than an hour when it's time.
