Influences
Everything from Blues to Jazz, Rock to Hip Hop, from Classical to Experimental and the list goes on. We love so many artist it would be hard to name them all. There are artists like Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Talib Kweli, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mos Def David Bowie, 311, Jamiroquai, Pink Floyd, U2, Cream, The Beatles, The Dead, Herbie Hancock, The Roots, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Public Enemy, Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, BB King, Howlin Wolf, Otis MuthaF**king Redding and I think we could keep going on and on. New music like Wolfmother!!!(they rock), Audioslave, Velvet Revolver and more. Then there are others like John Cage, and Edward Vuarez (that's all Randy), DJ's and producers, rappers and mc's, new rock groups, reggae, jam bands, metal groups and so much more. Our generation has grown up with so many influences, we kind of like it all.
Sounds Like
Gizmo's original sound is very epic and eclectic. We give the listener movements of music and some traditional song formatting (radio like). If you were to take Pink Floyd + Radiohead + U2 and mix it all up in a blender and added a little Rock the F%$@ OUT! + chill in the lounge Jazz + soul curdling blues + breakbeat your momma hip hop + puff puff reggea + and whatever else might strike us. We might just get into some live hip hop or play with dj's and chill out and make you dance, or play with rock bands and rock out. It all depends on the mood and what kind of show it is.
Gizmo has been a functional group for a five years now. We mysteriously popped up out of the ground somewhere and just started playing music in an old airplane hanger. The rest is history. Countless others have attempted to steal our thunder but none have yet to stop us from from infecting our music into the minds of others. With our combination of extremely powerful and catchy riffs mixed with melodic soaring vocals, what's not to fall in love with. Now is the time for a band of great calibre to make it's entry into the ears of America. Listen in, you'll want to hear more.
