John Dorris - sings the baritone for the group and is the originator of Glad Heart Quartet. John started Glad Heart over 15 years ago. After taking a recent two year break, they are back traveling and spreading the gospel in song. John is married to Sonya, and they have three children, Nick, Zack and Macy Jo. John works at Week's Chevrolet in Benton, IL. John loves to play with the children out on the farm. John is proud of his family and their involvement in southern gospel music. Don't be surprised if you see Macy up on the platform as they sing at some of the Glad Heart appearances.

Sonya Dorris - sings alto for the group. Sonya has been singing southern gospel music since she was three years old. "I love singing and I am so thankful that I can use the talents that God has given me to spread the gospel," said Sonya. "I am especially thankful that this ministry involves my family." Other than singing, Sonya loves to spend time with John and their children. There is never a dull moment in the Dorris household. Sonya recently completed her bachelor's degree in accounting. She works as an accountant for Southern Pride with aspirations of someday owning her own accounting business. John and Sonya make their home in rural Benton, IL.

Dave Kinsey - sings lead for the group and was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1961. He now lives in Thompsonville, Illinois and works as a Telecommunicator Specialist for the Illinois State Police in DuQuoin, IL. Dave has three girls, Sarah, Tarah, and Annie. The most recent addition to Dave's family is his grandson, Gunnar, granddaughter Marlie and another one on the way. He started with Glad Heart in March, 2005. Raised in a Christian home and a musically talented family, singing has just rubbed off on him. He always liked to sing, just not in public. Sitting in the back of a Baptist church singing hymns, John pestered him for two years to sing with him and finally Dave gave in. "This is my first time singing Southern Gospel and I love it," said Dave. "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in this capacity." Also, don't be surprised of you see Annie up on stage singing at Glad Heart appearances.

Barbara Benard - plays piano for the group. Barbara and her husband, Clarence have been in church music their whole lives. Barbara and Clarence currently attend Bonnie Baptist Church where they lead the music. Barbara is a retired school teacher. She keeps busy teaching piano lessons and spending time with her grandchildren. As time allows Clarence and Barbara love traveling in their RV. They enjoy attending southern gospel concerts all over the United States.
Glad Heart is a southern gospel mixed quartet that is dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus through song. Our selection of music includes old favorites and today’s top hits. The messages from our songs include the journeys we experience here on earth and the life lessons that we learn from them. But most importantly the words portray the grace and love that Jesus extends to all in the form of salvation and the promise of eternal life in Heaven.
It is our hope that people are blessed through the words and message of our songs. There are no greater words for us to hear than that someone has been touched by the Master through our ministry. All the glory goes to God.
Glad Heart is willing to travel wherever the Lord leads us. We would love to share His message with your church family. We do not have a set fee. We believe that churches show their appreciation through a love offering.
