The UCF Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Student Union (GLBSU), is a fellowship of students who share the common bond of interest in GLBT concerns. GLBSU was established in 1976 as the Florida Technological University Gay Student Association. In its charter, the Association listed among its original purposes, the ideas of instilling in GLBT people a sense of pride and self worth as well as promoting a better understanding between GLBT and non-GLBT communities.
As part of the University of Central Florida, GLBSU strives to eliminate homophobia on campus and in the community and mend the detrimental effects of hate, ignorance, and intolerance towards gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people.
Recognizing an obligation to educate, advocate, support, and serve, GLBSU provides GLBT students with opportunities to join together to learn, volunteer, take action, and enhance their own lives while attending UCF. By way of discussion groups, guest speakers, special events, and various social activities, GLBSU serves as a respite from a non-inclusive culture. Accordingly, the efforts of GLBSU continue to prevent misinformation and bridge the gap between cultures.

Meetings are every Tuesday at 8pm in the Student Union! Look at the screens in the Union to find what room we're in (usually it's 218, but on a few occasions we'll be in a different room).
I would like to Invite you the our 5 year anniversary celebration on Thursday June 25th at Revolution Nightclub. This will be a fabulous event! Come and enjoy Complimentary Champagne and Hordvres as you experience Bollywood and we transform Revolution into the Streets of Mumbai. We want to thank everyone that has helped us and supported us in the past 5 years. I hope that you can make it to our 5 year anniversary Celebration. The show will be starting at 1030 in the Majestic Theater Followed by a special Bollywood Themed production at 12am on the dance floor

UCF Conservatory Theatre starts its season this Thursday with Jake's Women by Neil Simon.

Neil Simon, America's premier comic playwright, tells the story of Jake, a novelist who is more successful with fiction than with real life. Facing a crisis in his marriage, he daydreams about the women in his past and present, controlling their actions, their words and even their clothes. Each of the women offers advice, comfort, and frustration which is alternately funny and moving. Ultimately Jake must decide if he will continue to live in the past or if he is ready to deal with reality.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the planning and production of Diva Invasion 2007! Our event was name 2007/2008 UCF Event of the Year! The e-board would like to thank everyone who made it out to Diva this year, as well as all of our weekly meetings, socials, and other events like the GAYla. Without your committment and support, none of this would have been possible. Please continue showing support for your GLBT community here at UCF and the surrounding area. I will truly miss all the fun I had at the meetings and serving as your president. This was definitely one of the most fulfilling times in my life. You all have my e-mail so please keep in touch.
