Most of the times it is only me. But I have come to discover it is equally fun to work with other talented artists and musicians. So at times you may find other people's contribution in my music.
Influences
They are countless. But most of my influences come from my life, experiences and situations. Many have told me they imagine things when they listen to my music. That's fantastic since I have a certain feeling or thought behind each note I write and play. It is equally exciting each time someone write their thoughts to me regarding the music.
In terms of "musical influence" I have listened mainly to soundtracks growing up so it would be the top of the field: John Williams, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore, John Ottman, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Mike Oldfield, Steve Jablonsky etc. Then there are other influences from other genres: The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Chrystal Method, Rage Against the Machine, Marilyn Manson etc. The order that I gave above has NOTHING to do with preference but was just the order it came to mind.
Sounds Like
I would like to say it sounds like my own. I guess it has this film music kind of taste. Many says that it is relaxing, others say it is ambient and people have even said it is haunting.
While I am definitely into composing music for movies, I want to continue getting this music out on radio and heard by everyone. Pop, soul, rap, rock, funk, techno, electro and country (etc., etc.) isn't the ONLY music that you should hear from the radio. I consider film type of music and just instrumental (not only classic) should be on the radio too. I don't know why it hasn't been, but if you really look at it, that is probably the MOST listened to music in the world today. I don't think there is a single soul that HASN'T watched a movie today.
Well, there you go. Therefore the music should be featured out there on radio too! That is what I want to accomplish here as well.

MUSIC BY GLEN GABRIEL
Castle of Lugor
So for a "self-written" biography without sounding like I try to boast too much:
I've been around music since I was a child. I grew up with it since my father was a legendary artist manager that managed over 100 of the biggest artists in Sweden during 20 years and my mother, a painting artist, that has sold more original work than any other living painting artist on the planet. That's pretty cool.
So as a kid I met with pianist Per-Erik Hallin (the only Swede who ever toured with Elvis Presley) who has advised me in music for many years. From having been around all these people including our family friend and world famous artist Chick Corea, it was only natural I wanted to become an artist myself.
I learned one very key and interesting fact hanging around these fantastic artists and people, which was the importance of creating and to never be bound by any rules in doing so.
By 2009 I am a proud signee to the German based publishing company, Audio Factory which are quite impressive and a fantastic team. I also write music for the New York based “Volition Sound Branding”, where I have, so far, been asked to submit music for Electrolux, HBSC Bank, Lipton Tea, Sharp Aquos, US Marine Corps and Dr Pepper, to mention a few.
I have also scored a major spot for USA based TV-Channel TBS and the USA based sports-channel ESPN.
Then there are other users of my compositions such as Nike, Ford Models, X-Audio and PBS.
I also LOVE orchestrating for other artists since I get to learn so much out of working with different styles. It also turns out to work quite well. I have worked with the wonderful Lizette & (with over 9.000.000 albums sold as a songwriter, Tony Harnell (TNT, Starbreaker, Morningwood, Westworld), Magnus Karlsson (Last Tribe, Russell Allen, Jorn Lande), Bob Catley (Magnus), Mille (Bruket 3D) etc. I am also now working with the amazing Dan Reed (Dan Reed Network) and it is just a blast.
My personal (and possibly my favorite project) has so far lead to 3 albums, "Music in Chronological Order", "My World" and the newly released “Adrenalin”. The music is very cinematic and suited for films. Many seem to like it and listen to it without the wide-screen so that is also fun.
My highest burning desire is film scoring. My list or resume is not HUGE but I am working on that, LOL! I have done music for ./shutdown web series, Fight The Panda Syndicate, The Aberration, The Nothing Man, Castle of Lugor and God vs. Science. More to come!
I would say my music is orchestral with a subtle blend of electronic elements, which gives a modernized touch so that everyone can feel "at home." My goal as an artist is to have you create your own images to my music and take that deep journey into your wildest imagination and magical place called "the mind".
I do realize that I have yet a lot to learn but that will probably never end as no one can be e PERFECT ALL-TIME musician. I like to believe there are always new ways and paths to follow for an artist.
I have many friends here on Myspace but I do TRY to keep up answering all mails and messages as I love making new friends. Drop me a line if you like.
Most of my music is for sale and you can purchase some at CD Baby or by clicking on the buttons here!
I heard some nice sounds and chord changes. You got a feel and emotion going. I just uploaded my new song ' I Know You, No?' IF IT AIN'T A HIT THEN I DON'T WHAT IS! Check it out and the sound programming.
Glen - stopped by for a listen today and as always, I'm in bliss. Introduced a friend to your music today too... he loved it! Hope you're doing well!! ~M
Glen! I am revisiting your site after you added me as a friend nearly a year ago because of our similar musical interests, and I must say your new songs are EPIC. As I was listening to BIRCA all I could see were thousands of soldiers riding on horseback through their woodland kingdom preparing to fight a dark enemy, the sincere and determined looks in their eyes as they pushed forward, refusing to be conquered by their own fears and doubts but giving themselves entirely to fight for their memories, their past, their land, and their futures. That you could paint that scene for me through your music... Thanks :)
I dont know if you follow college hockey here in the US, but I have a cousin that helped take their team to championship and he's probably going pro! Jason Lawrence, Boston University
