Bio
.. Here you can listen to some of my music, browse some pictures, look at videos etc. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .................... .. .. Below are some videos that features my music or where I have scored/composed to the picture. All songs are made by me (Glen Gabriel) .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ........ .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .................. .. Wow, I usually don't post these long boring biographies! But since they are needed when people want to find out about you so if you are interested, just go to my webpage: www.glengabriel.com .. Otherwise, I am a composer by heart and love what I do! I focus a lot on orchestral scores though I like mixing other elements into it to make it modern yet time-less. .. I write music for the New York based “Volition Sound Branding” and I compose films when asked. A few names of companies I've composed for: Electrolux, HBSC Bank, Lipton Tea, Sharp Aquos, US Marine Corps, US Navy, US Census, Dr Pepper, Tequila 1800, TBS, Discovery Channel, ESPN, TLC, Nike, Ford Models, PBS, Guinness, Elizabeth Arden, HBSC Bank, Oppenheimer Funds, Garnier etc. .. I also LOVE orchestrating for other artists since I get to learn so much out of working with different styles. It also turns out to work quite well! .. My personal (and possibly my favorite project) has so far lead to 3 albums, "Music in Chronological Order", "My World" and “Adrenalin”. The music is of course very cinematic and suited for films. .. I am not trying to say I am huge or world-famous but just that I love what I do and I believe I am quite available for the market. My goal as an artist is to have you create your own images to my music and take that deep journey into your wildest imagination and magical place called "the mind". .. I do realize that I have yet a lot to learn but that will probably never end as no one can be a PERFECT ALL-TIME musician. I like to believe there are always new ways and paths to follow for an artist. .. I have many friends here on Myspace but I do TRY to keep up answering all mails and messages as I love making new friends. Drop me a line if you like. .. Most of my music is for sale and you can purchase some at ..CD Baby.. or by clicking on the buttons here!.. ...... .. .. .. .. .............. .. -

Most of the times it is only me. But I have come to discover it is equally fun to work with other talented artists and musicians. So at times you may find other people's contribution in my music. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -
Influences
They are countless. But most of my influences come from my life, experiences and situations. Many have told me they imagine things when they listen to my music. That's fantastic since I have a certain feeling or thought behind each note I write and play. It is equally exciting each time someone write their thoughts to me regarding the music. .. In terms of "musical influence" I have listened mainly to soundtracks growing up so it would be the top of the field: John Williams, James Horner, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore, John Ottman, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Mike Oldfield, Steve Jablonsky etc. Then there are other influences from other genres: The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Chrystal Method, Rage Against the Machine, Marilyn Manson etc. The order that I gave above has NOTHING to do with preference but was just the order it came to mind. -
Sounds Like
I would like to say it sounds like my own. I guess it has this film music kind of taste. Many says that it is relaxing, others say it is ambient and people have even said it is haunting. .. While I am definitely into composing music for movies, I want to continue getting this music out on radio and heard by everyone. Pop, soul, rap, rock, funk, techno, electro and country (etc., etc.) isn't the ONLY music that you should hear from the radio. I consider film type of music and just instrumental (not only classic) should be on the radio too. I don't know why it hasn't been, but if you really look at it, that is probably the MOST listened to music in the world today. I don't think there is a single soul that HASN'T watched a movie today. .. Well, there you go. Therefore the music should be featured out there on radio too! That is what I want to accomplish here as well. .. .. ..............

Hi Glen, nice to meet you! :) I've just listen to all your wonderful musics and I really don't know to say which one I like the most! Perhaps my favourite are "Glow" and "No Surrender" they remembers me a little The Chronicles of Narnia's and The Lord of the Ring's soundtracks. While "Waltz of Giants" seems to me a Scottish ballad at the beginning, in my opinion it will be perfect for the movie "Braveheart".
Compliments! You're very good as composer and I adore your style!
Cheers from Italy.

I'm just storing a few songs on here for fun, maybe in a few years time I will visit my page again and laugh. I would like to move from writing dance music to classical/film scores and I would love to write some Mozart/Beethoven style piano pieces as well. Need a bit more practice first though! It's inspiring seeing someone like you writing filmworthy music on Logic.

Hey Glen, I've not used Myspace for ages now but I had to stop by to check out your music again, I see a lot of people mentioning you are like the next Hanz Zimmer, Well I hear a lot of James Horner in your music, you could definitely write a soundtrack for any hit film such as Avatar or Gladiator and people would love it. I won't forget your name. By the way my favourite James Horner film is The Land Before Time, do you like that film? I think it's completely amazing.
