Glenn Allen is a California original. Born and raised in Sacramento, he comes from a family steeped in musical tradition – his grandmother was a singer and pianist and his uncle is a professional drummer. Glenn carries on the practice today as an emerging singer songwriter with an original and distinctive sound.
His voice is gentle yet strong and his lyrics are poetic; weaving stories and reflective songs about feelings, personal life changes, and relationships. His music is textured with lush harmonies, robust guitar work, and melodies that stay with you; songs that make you listen and want to hear more.
Glenn started playing drums when he was 12 years old. At age 17, he also picked up the guitar and then piano- and almost immediately began writing songs. Not long after high school, with numerous bands expanding his repertoire and deepening his performance experience, he formed a Top 40 band in the Sacramento area. Soon he was out front playing guitar and singing backup. He quickly became the band’s primary songwriter penning many original works.
It wasn't long after that when Glenn moved to Los Angeles to further hone his skill as a songwriter and producer and attended the Musician’s Institute where he studied audio engineering and perfecting his knowledge of music production.
In the summer of 2007, Glenn began recording in his home studio with bassist Wayne Lothian (English Beat, General Public) and later drummer Chris O’Brien (The Lift, David Tyson) was brought in to lend his powerful drum style to the mix. Additional engineering was done by Zoran Todorovic who has worked on projects for Seal, The Eagles Randy Meisner and many others at Sonic Farm Recording Studio. The tracks were honed further with Grammy nominated engineer and producer Michael Vail Blum – (Madonna, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson) at Titan Music in Studio City, Ca.
Now residing in Seattle, Glenn is preparing for the release and support of his debut independent album. Featured songs from his forthcoming CD can be heard here on this music page. Enjoy listening...........
I hear a rumor that we may be having cheeseburgers with you sometime in July. I fully expect mine to come with a side of Glenn Allen guitar virtuoso and a tasty sampling of his debut indie album, peppered with seasonings like "break you down."
I know we have some talented Fairgrounds Friends out there! At our first ever Skagit County Free Kids' Day at the Fairgrounds we will have a community stage. The KWLE The Whale stage will host Skagit's Got Talent.

Talked it over with Julie and we were thinking that you guys should move back to California in the summer! I found a nice small mansion in Beverly Hills that rents for 10k a month, but there willing to do it for 2k as long as we keep them laughing! I told them about the midgets at Jumbos Clown Room on the house arrest program and that was enough to get the key, call me when your on the 5 freeway just north of Yreka and I will give you the 411 on the fat crib!! Miss you guys! Yeah! Yeah! What? Yeah!
Happy birthday holmes! You are now 108 years old. You and yoda should grab some bunk beds and head to degoba...see you thursday night! Yeah! I will bring Volker and a 12 pack of dead guy ale and some nude pics of Gary Coleman with the bucket of sour cream per julie's request :-)
The 2 Bogner Fish preamps kick in with drop D tuning, the rhythm guitar is dropped down to C, yes we are out of tune but no one cares, not even us...Dirty Nads...Glenn steps on the whah pedal and breaks into an EVH Eruption type solo...Patrick pulls down his pants and eats spaghetti while playing a solo backwards, Aaron grabs the mic and says ummm...YEAH!!!! Tim Dolan swings the bass and makes Les Claypool look like an amateur...as he plays his hair gets tangled into the strings while attempting a bass solo on a pogo stick, but it's all for the tone as he plays with his back against the audience so no one can steal his technique. Eric Forsmann screams...One, two one two.....YEAH!!! Eric got new shoes!!! Gary Coleman kicks over the drums after doing a solo of "Hot for Teacher" except faster but his sticks are on fire!!! He grabs a pitcher of mayonaise, no wait it ranch dressing and starts throwing it into the crowd! The lights come on and a tumble weed blows by...the owner of the Boardwalk asks if we have any change for the meter, his Land rover is about to get towed. We flip the owner off and burst into another solo as Dan (aka FRO) walks in with Brian McAdam's and his once hot sister Sally....to be continued.
