PURCHASE THE ALBUM IN DIGITAL FORM ON iTUNES:

What happens when you meld a classically trained pianist and vocalist, a bi-lingual songwriter, a poet, a guitarist, and a tap dancer into one person on stage? You might witness an approximation of Glenna Garramone's live show.

There is only one thing you can predict about a performance by indie songstress Glenna Garramone: listeners will be engaged. Whether moving people to tears with her dramatic piano ballads, transforming an audience into her rhythm section for a jazzy vocal improv, or inviting folks to sing along with her chorus during a guitar tune, Glenna thrives on stage.

Glenna Garramone has been entrancing audiences since the age of fourteen. Her first songs were born of “emotional necessity.” In tune with the power of music as a catalyst for cathartic healing, Glenna continues to cultivate a degree of honesty and integrity in her song writing and performance that is rare in an artist so young.

At twenty-seven years of age, Glenna Garramone has self-released four recordings. Glenna’s first full-length album, “Opus,” was released when Glenna was just seventeen. In addition to garnering enthusiastic reviews in print and on radio, “Opus” charted in the Top Ten at campus radio stations in the Ottawa area, where Glenna was living at the time. The opening track of her debut album was used in an independent film, “The Nature of Reality.”

Classically trained as a pianist and vocalist, Glenna also studied guitar and percussion during her adolescence. Her musical influences range from Bach’s piano preludes to Ani DiFranco’s percussive guitar plucking. Glenna pursued her love of poetry and music by earning her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria, with a major in Writing Poetry. Lyrically, Glenna’s playful and evocative imagery reflects her immersion in a poetic world.

A seasoned performer, Glenna Garramone feels at home in a wide range of venues, from the main stage of Victoria's Folk Fest to an intimate show in a Montreal art gallery. Glenna’s memorable performances earned her the title "Favourite Female Performer" in the year 2000, in her then-hometown of Waterloo, Ontario. In June 2001, Glenna was one of 15 emerging songwriters selected from the province to attend the BC Festival of the Arts. Her role in the local community was recognised when she was nominated for “Best Female Vocalist” at the first annual Victoria Independent Music Awards in February of 2002. In the summer of 2003, glenna traversed the country on her nation-wide "Sloppy Seduction Tour." In Spring 2004, Glenna toured the west coast of the U.S.A. by invitation, adding a musical and tap dancing element to the indie press touring circuit, The Perpetual Motion Roadshow.

Actively involved in the local Victoria scene, Glenna spent four years promoting fellow female singer songwriters through a bimonthly showcase series she produced entitled "Wimmin in Music." She also accompanies spoken work poet lisa b. during her live performances, and on lisa b.’s debut recording “Salvaged Music.”

Glenna Garramone released her newest album, Seasky-Starsong, co-produced by Wynn Gogol and Corwin Fox, in February 2008.

Keith Jarrett, Bach and Tori Amos hop into a timemachine, have a threesome, and give birth to a piano player who sounds a lot like you is by far the best description of one's own music i've ever heard! :)
