I make all my ambient soundscapes with guitar only; no keyboards, synths, or sequencers were used.
I use a American Deluxe Strat with Kinman pickups, a ES335 with Seymour Duncans, and also a Maton EGB808 acoustic from time to time.
Recording-wise, everything is recorded direct to the computer, via some combination of a POD XT, a Digi-Tech RP-12, a Boss RC-20 Loop Station, a Zoom G2, WD7 wah and a TS9 OD. I also use some freeware .vst plugins for post-recording tweaks to the recorded sound.
Influences
Some of my favorite musicians are Allan Holdsworth, Mike Keneally, Bill Frisell, Scott Henderson, Hermeto Pascoal, Steely Dan, Nguyen Le, Mike Keneally, Ron Thal, John Scofield, Robert Fripp, Jimmy Herring, Bela Bartok, Mike Keneally, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter, Roy Buchanon, Shawn Lane, Anton Webern, Eivind Aarset, Nils Petter Molvaer, Mike Keneally, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Sun Ra, Stars Of The Lid, Marconi Union, Ozric Tentacles, Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa, Mike Keneally .... and on a pedestal....J S Bach.
Sounds Like
...ambient soundscapes for the most part.
Until recently, I mainly played blues, jazz, fusion, rock, jazz-funk, and some more 80's heavy type stuff. These days, I'm finding myself doing a lot more experimental ambient/textural spooky film-score type music....it's a huge area to get into, and really gives you the opportunity to get creative. I'd like to sound something like Marconi Union or Stars of the Lid...
My bio: I live in Australia, and have been playing guitar for about 20 years. I like to play a lot of styles, but mainly focus on ambient and textural guitar these days. My albums, AMbIENT and Three Crows & The Moon, are available for sale for anyone interested.
Crystal Fascination I took me to a deep place man. Great first track to listen to in the morning. And I loved the vibe and feel of the Indian styled solo also...very liquid.
Besides having great compositional skills, you also seem to have excellent production skills, tone, and touch. Much love dude, talk soon!
Hey Glenn! Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you dug the solo joint! I refer to that disc as my therapy project cause it kept me sane! I'm digging your ambient tones as well! One day if Spyz finally gets down under, a beer will be shared! Cya on the MM forum and THANKS! HMS4L! JH
good day. thanks for the registration. the music/sound in this space sounds themselves well, very much inspiring. I wish a beautiful day and I hope you soon to see.loves greet from Germany
Hi Glenn. WHITE NOISE is a magnificent piece of work. The more ambient stuff is truly gorgeous. Wonderful guitars and sounds! I'm a fan. Thanks for the add!
Hey man, "White Noise" sounds great! Beautiful soundscapes, sounds like you're really starting to find your voice. "Let it breathe" is not quite as immediate, but it breathes nicely:-) Got me thinking about 70s Terje Rypdal records, you should check out those. Was going to comment on the last two tracks, but that will have to wait because the server seems to be overloaded... Cheers!
hey, i loved the "white noise" tune, very nice, i´ll listen to the other ones... i´m one of those musicians who like to listen to "one" song many times in order to understand everything, so, i´ll give it a listen to the other ones later on.. c ya
Great sound mate.
I don't know much about u dude..do u gig at all? Coming to Sydney at all where we can see u perform.

Hi Glenn, thanks for letting me join! (I actually found you thru the Holdsworth forum...)
Top atmospheric stuff! Really liking the dissonance of 'Nightmare', nice chordal arpeggio part on 'White Noise', and fab playing and recorded guitar tone on 'White Noise' and 'A Raymond Chandler Ending'! Beautifully done!
