This is the page dedicated to the Cornwall chapter of the Gothic Liberation Front.- I am mainly based in the Camborne and Hayle (and surrounding areas, but will represent Cornwall as a whole)
The aim of this community is to highlight the issues of which Goth's and other alternative subcultures encounter. Far too long have hate crimes towards such subcultures have been over looked, until the recent and unfortunate death of Sophie Lancaster (for more information please visit the SOPHIE page).

She unfortunately is not the only one to have encountered such violence, there has been and will be many more, and this will not stop until we ALL stand up for not only our selves but each other and fight for our right to be who we want to be in this world, regardless of how you look, etc.
We aim to give you guys some ideas of how to defend yourself if such situations occur, support, updates and news. Also we are planning to organize events to support the case, talks to kids in schools, ETC.
Also we would like to highlight a few more issues other than violence, and abuse, such as equality in the work place, and equal opportunities for jobs, and what not. People need to understand, that Goths, and Alternative people are not just a trend, for a fair majority of us this IS A WAY OF LIFE, this is who we are, the way we live and feel. We can't and won't change who we are to fit in, we accept "normal" people, let's help them understand, they need to learn to accept us for who we are.

Hello! I'm hotufae. I've personally suffered abuse, death threats, amoungst other things over the years purley because of how i decide i wish to dress. Its pathetic, the last time i checked this was a free country and people had the right to look how they want, say what they want, and do what they want. I can come across as quite angry or sarcastic but trust me its not meant in that way! I just have alot of strong views of topics such as this and i intend to let them be known. Other than that im actually quite a talkative person! Infact i like to talk, ahah so please if you want to know anything, have any questions or ideas please feel free to contact us!
