UP NEXT - UK HOUSE MUSIC LEGEND JON CARTER
The Glitches Priority is to bring new and upfront music to the city of Dundee for forward thinking clubbers. Nothing more - nothing less.
Glitch kicked off on Saturday the 1st of December 2007 with a Guest act flown in all the way from Berlin, which was none other than the deliriously frazzled 'Vector Lover' Martin Wheeler. A night in association with Glasgow's bastion of underground techno, 'Soma Records'.
Since that time we have included 'Colours' main man 'Jon Mancini', and the hottest and fastest uprising Dj / Producer of the deep house scene 'Milton Jackson' of Freerange Records, Then of course a September show from our good Friend 'Harri' of Sub Club in Glasgow, And last but Not least the small issue of giving Dundee a long overdue return of a creator of acid house, a producer for superstar musicians of mass repute, and a world wide renowned Dj, yes you guessed it 'Justin Robertson'.
UP NEXT UK HOUSE MUSIC LEGEND - JON CARTER
After a packed out OKUPA! With Phil Kieran, we return from our summer break with UK house music legend JON CARTER. Apart from taking part in every festival imaginable this summer…. Glastonbury, Rockness, EH1 and V Festival, Jon Boasts a professional Dj Career of over 15 years. Jon Carter rose to prominence in ‘94, playing legendary weekly sessions alongside the Chemical Brothers and Death in Vegas. Jon played as a guest DJ on the Prodigy's 'Fat of the Land' tour, cementing him as one of the brightest young DJ talents around and bringing in the 21st century spinning his mantra as resident DJ at four of the UK’s biggest clubs: Bugged Out in Liverpool/Manchester, Shine in Belfast, Home in London's Leicester Square and The Boutique in Brighton.
Radio 1’s English version of 'Love Parade' was launched with Jon being selected amongst a small number of choice DJs who entertained a crowd of around 350,000 (the largest outdoor event attendance in the UK).
Add to this annual trips to Ibiza for residencies at Cream and Manumission, regular dates in Singapore, China and Japan and a picture starts to form of someone who permanently lived out of a suitcase, but Jon’s studio work kept the home fires burning. Jon was commissioned to remix Happy Mondays’ ‘24 Hour Party People’ which was such a success, ending up as the theme music to the celebrated film.
Were also delighted to welcome MATTHEW TOPEN on board, as well as being a talented minimalist, Matthew has being helping the Glitch for some months now and thoroughly deserves his new place! Cya on the 14th November.....
