2004 Kalmar, Southern Sweden . The cruelty of winter was beginning its rapid onslaught over the land and its folk, the Swedesa stoic people who for millennium had tested their mettle against natures icy fury and prevailed. The seas were beginning to freeze over, the ground turning to stone and life unprepared was vanquished to a brutal fate as the darkness tightened its stranglehold for the long, merciless months ahead.
It was in the December of that year when the first light began to flicker. Near the Old Towns medieval castle a light dared to pierce the fog. At first feint, yet steadily gathering in confidence. Out of the dim shadow the light began to grow. A glimmer of hope, a spark of optimism, a glow
A Glitzy Glow.
Glam Metal guitarist/songwriter Johnny Roxxy, together with singer/songwriter Julia Sallander lit the torch that month when they recorded Dragonflythe ethereal ballad which found instant success on local radio station P2. But for Roxxy it wasnt enough. The skeletons of a Glam Rock album, pacing back and forth inside his head, wouldnt let him sleep. While the chorus of Melodious Metal kept Roxxy staring into the night, Juliathe fair jewel of the north was far away in a dream. From the inner shade of lucidity, the children of the song guided her through the night, sharing her quest, whispering her future. As morning shepherded her linen-clad figure from the depths of bliss, the lyrics and melodies remained.
A new beginning was heralded, Glitzy Glow was born.
The duo went back into their home studio and recorded the naked bones for the eight songs which would dominate their time, and the hunt for musicians was on.
Geoff Lawrence, wandering guitarist from Australia was the first to hear the call. An Australian Viking Bard? Would it work? Unsheathing his guitar, he drew his plectrum and by the end of the first jam, a second guitar part was added to Evening Faces. And Roxxy was pleased. On the fourth day, battle-hardened drummer Daniel Jackzin, born a stone’s throw from Santa’s house in Umeå, northern Sweden, heard the call to arms.
"Let there be drums!" And there were drums. And guitar, and song, and keyboards. With fire in his eyes and time in his blood, the bands tempo was now stayed. And Roxxy was pleased.
Yet something wasn’t right. A singer, two guitarists, a drummersomething was missing. Not something, someone. On the fifth day the heavens opened, a bolt of lightening cleaved a rent in the earth and out of the smouldering destruction stepped Heavy Metal bass player Carl Thunder. Carl Thunder, 197 centimetres of pure bass power. Six foot seven of four stringed attack. Glitzy Glow was now complete.
Splashing in for wishing you a nice day But most of all to thank You for your friendship! *Don't do anything I wouldnt' do* lol Fred, Kärlek & Respekt //Nillan xoxo
