Greetings Friends and Familia:
Please join us for a wonderful evening of theater as we celebrate one of the great works of Frederico García Lorca, the late, great Spanish Playwright. Presented by Teatro Nuevo Mexico and the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
Teatro Nuevo Mexico presents "YERMA," Federico García Lorca’s timeless and emotional tale of isolation, fate and yearning. Directed by Salomé Martínez Lutz. IN SPANISH WITH SUPER TITLES.
Showtimes: Thursday, Oct. 1 @ 7:00 pm
Friday & Saturday, Oct. 2&3 @ 8:00pm
Sunday, October 4 @ 2:00 pm
Location: National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW, Albuquerque, NM. Call the NHCC Box Office to get your tickets at 505-724-4661.
"The play tells the story of a childless woman, Yerma, in 1930’s rural Spain. Her desperate desire for motherhood becomes an obsession that eventually drives her to commit a horrific crime. This desperation is produced by the social norms of her culture, and the work functions as a critique of those norms. Living in a society of women who have children with their husbands as part of a ritual, this hurts Yerma even more.
Hope to see you all there! Much love~

Playing at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW Elena, the heroine of this popular sainete, is a promising opera singer,” exactly what her father does not want her to be! This fast-paced farce will keep you laughing at the outrageous antics of Elena’s father and his side kick, Benito.
This wonderful piece of music literature is dynamic and fun to listen to and watch - bring the family!
