Global Review makes your body move in a way that would embarrass your mother. The sound is gravitating, multi-directional, deeply rooted in a funky jazz-rock soil, but running circles around the genre wheel into blues, reggae, Latin, and New Orleans-style grooves. The broad palette is a reflection of the ongoing search for the great song, regardless of whether it fits neatly into one box - -and the songwriting of Aaron Davis is at the forefront of this movement.
The growing repertoire since August of 2002 has always focused heavily on writing original material, with our home-base Jackson Hole providing immediate inspiration. From edgy-funk instrumental "Bolivian Gangsta," reggae-friendly backpacking tune "Wanna Leave What I Got," politically slanted "Country" and "Liberty," to indie-rock tinged "Golden Stone" and singer-songwriter tune "Cinque da Terre," the styles and arrangements escape any one format. For certain, its music you'll want to dance to.
Debut studio album, "Transcend," was released in 2006 and features eleven tracks of original material by Aaron Davis, and one instrumental piece from original bassist Justin Fantl.
Notable mentions:
**Opened for Willie Nelson Labor Day 05 at Snow King Amphitheatre in Jackson
**"Bolivian Gangsta" selected for the television series Road Trip Nation, which will also was featured online at MSN.com.
**Global Review is the official touring band for the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (2005-2009) that spans ten towns across Wyoming and Utah
