Lars Erik has been playing guitar since early childhood and started making original tunes with his buddy Erik Bredesen at age 12-13. This collabo continued and soon drummer Øistein Berge was added to form what was to become "Blob" and later "Moustaffa Raiders". After a while Øistein fell out and in came Audun Storset (of "the Lionheart Brothers") on guitar and (in-between, when he didn't make love to his girlfriend) Marius R. Bråten aka "Baron Waffe" on drums, guitar and bass to form "Gloom" (Gloom had a song or two on "Blodig Måne", an action-short by later fellow band-mate Terje J. Vullum)
The following years Lars Erik took turns playing drums, bass, guitar and singing in "Gloom" and doing vocals in 70's rock band "Emma Hex" and a "Cure" cover band. After a while "Gloom" was split up and Lars Erik, Terje J. Vullum aka "Golovan" (of So Turn Me On Dead Man) and Anders S. Malvik aka "Bald Man With Stormy Hair" formed Borkum Riff. It was a short-lived project but spawned the musical relationships that were later to become "Peeker" and "STMODM".
At 17, Lars Erik joined forces with Marius, Anders and Ragnar Skarseth (of "Singing Swords") to form "Peeker".Lars Erik was now pretty much a full-time drummer-boy. "Peeker" was on a roll, but none of the band members were about to to run atop it. "Peeker" was split up in the midst of making the first album after six years of ups and downs and long hiatuses (some still wonder if the bear will awaken from its hibernation yet again, who knows?).
During the end season of "Peeker" Lars Erik was approached by former band-mate Terje who had been fooling around with a couple of new friends and desperately needed a drummer. Lars Erik, Terje, Ola A. Eggen and Bjørn Fremmersvik formed Indie-drone-gaze-extravaganza, "So Turn Me On Dead Man". Now Lars Erik has moved to Oslo and had to quit STMODM right after tracking the drums for yet another unreleased album.
After spending the last six or so years mainly playing drums and adding bits+pieces to other band-members' stuff Lars Erik decided to start recording his own songs as GloomAndGlow. What will become of this? No one knows, but with a little help from friends, girlfriend Sofie and loads of unrecorded tunes something is bound to happen soon...?
(thnx to Golovan for giving me a quick lesson in html whilst being drunk so i can BReak)
