Alen himself wasn’t satisfied with the musical direction his former band was
heading to. Once Astor heard a demo of Alen, they had a couple of drinks and a
few days later, Astor asked Alen if he would help out as a singer to get the
studio project going. Gloomball was born as a two-man-project.
Two months later the first Gloomball demo “Simple Mood Control” was recorded. It
has never been released. They contacted several record labels and the responds
were positive but they wanted more songs and a complete band.
After having enough songmaterial together they went back to the studio to record
the new demo for “Embrace The Unknown”. Both knew each other better and they
knew exactly what direction they wanted to go musically, being that a unique
style was created. It's heavy, it's melodic, it's honest and extremely powerful.
It's all GLOOMBALL!
The only thing that they had to do was to find talented people who would join
the band to set up a live show. Merih joined GLOOMBALL in spring 2008! We were
looking for a bassplayer and finally Leize joined the band!
