Interests

  • General

I like to read any book that captures my interest-same with movies. I like getting lost in music and people-watching. My passion is writing.
  • Music

I like old, old rock--Motown, almost all music from the 60s. Some country, a tiny bit of Raggae and music that makes me want to dance (that record has a great beat, I can dance to it, I'd give it a 90, Dick. This is American Bandstand for those of you who never saw it--poor you!)
  • Movies

I like any movie that scares the stuffin' out of me. I also like thrillers and a good psycological suspense.
  • Television

All the forensic stuff, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and even-gasp!-American Idol, sometimes. I will miss just about everything to watch: Brothers & Sisters and Damages
  • Books

There have been so many wonderful (and bad) books written so I can only say what *I* like: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Stand, The Bad Place, Watchers..oh, just about everything Dean Koontz wrote. My favorite authors are Janet Evanovich, John Saul, Stephen King, Bentley Little and, of course, the master-Dean Koontz.
  • Heroes

The women in my family, the subject(s) of my book and the loves of my life. They were so flawed, so loving, and showed me how to be or not to be.

About me:

.. I just got my first book review-from a library director, no less! "Your book is indeed like cocoa fudge: warm, comforting and exciting. I can't wait for the world to taste it!"

This is a page about my journey with my latest book, Saturday Night Cocoa Fudge. It was released the end of September and it's still quite a ride.

The book is memoir along the lines of, in my opinion, a blending of Fried Green Tomatoes and Steel Magnolias.

Here is the short synopsis:

SATURDAY NIGHT COCOA FUDGE is a coming-of-age story of not only a freckled-faced girl of the 1950s in east Tennessee but the maturation of the women of my family. This book isn’t about a sugar-sweet mother and grandmother, nor is it about an unscrupulous family that crippled me emotionally. Rather it’s about sweetly flawed women who taught me what I was meant to be and what I was not meant to be. Our neck of the woods was filled with folklore, superstition, and mystical ideas. My grandmother believed and practiced most of these, passing them onto the next generation. My world was populated with strange relatives, quirky neighbors and mysterious bible verses that could stop the flow of blood. Being a member of this bizarre family made life worth living. These people were so fiercely loyal in their love for me, for each other, I felt they deserved to have their story told.
