Sharon Jackson was born on April 15, 1966. She is the last of six children born to Andrew and Lottie Jackson. She has been singing for as long as she can remember. As a child she would sing with her brothers and sisters around the kitchen table. Music has always been a part of her family. She came to realize at an early age that God had anointed her to sing praises unto Him.
She graduated from Central High School in 1984 and went on to attend Emory University in Atlanta, GA. However, when she became a junior, she transferred to University of Memphis from where she received her B.A. in 1989.
Sharon began leading Praise and Worship at her church, Faith Temple Ministries Church, in 1986. She has found that worship is a lifestyle that one must live out daily, being fully aware that God is ever present and ever near. The Lord has truly anointed her to lead His people into His presence, and she counts it a privilege, as well as an awesome responsibility to have been chosen by God to do so. Sharon also serves as the Coordinator of the Church of God in Christ National Praise Team, Send Judah First.
Sharon has had the privilege of singing with and/or on the same venue with various Gospel artist, such as Andrae Crouch, The Hawkins Family, Donnie McClurkin, Judith Christie-McAllister, Stevie Wonder, Benita Washington, Alvin Fruga, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Timothy Wright, Douglas Miller, Patti LaBelle, Shirley Ceasar, Martha Munizzi, Mary Alessi, Shae Norman, Commissioned, Byron Cage, Norman Hutchins, Helen Baylor, the late James Moore, Daryl Coley, William Murphy, Beverly Crawford, Marvin Winans, Lamar Campbell, Lacrecia Campbell, Mary Mary, Bishop Leonard Scott, Ruby Terry, Kelly Price and many others.
Sharon was blessed to record her first Live Praise and Worship CD in September of 2004. It was released in February 2005 and is yet receiving rave reviews. She plans to record again in the very near future.
Sharon is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Brittany Elizabeth and Sophia Antonette. Her desire is to make the praises of God glorious.
