Glory Days Presents! has been producing and promoting live music events in the ever growing college town of Gainesville, FL since roughly 2000.
Currently, Glory Days presents shows at every regular live music venue in Gainesville - Market Street Pub, Common Grounds, The Venue, 1982 Bar, Atlantic, and Backstage Lounge. Glory Days has also presented shows at past and present local venues including Side Bar, Abbey Road, The Pontiac, Faces, Full Circle, The Shamrock, The Basement, Midtown, The Downtown Plaza, Tim and Terry's, and Hyde and Zeke Records. In addition, the company has contributed to local festivals such as THE FEST (presented by No Idea Records), Gainesville Summer Music and Film Showcase aka Moefest (presented by ASCAP and Promoe Music), and Alachua Music Harvest / Florida Music Harvest and works extensively with University of Florida organizations RUB (Reitz Union Board), and MEISA (Music Entertainment Student Association), along with Student Government Productions. Basically, if its live music in Gainesville, we are probably involved.
In Sept 2008, Glory Days put on Gainesville's only (and first in almost a decade) outdoor multi day, multi genre camping style music festival - aptly titled THE REAL BIG DEAL - at the Alachua County Fairgrounds. Approximately 2500 people were attendance over the 2 day event featuring headliners Motion City Soundtrack, Drive By Truckers, and Mates of State. The highlight of the weekend was the now famous "Barn Jam" featuring a once in a lifetime live collaboration between the Benevento Russo Duo and Galactic drummer Stanton Moore. We hope this will be the first annual in a long line of Real Big Deal's for Gainesville.
In 2007, we began expanding to other Florida markets including Pensacola, Orlando, and Tampa for select shows. GLORY DAYS GULF COAST now puts on over 50 concerts a year in Pensacola. Keep an eye on the show listings for bigger names that might not be coming to Gainesville!
Glory Days presents OVER 200 LIVE SHOWS A YEAR in Gainesville alone, supporting local music as well as attracting popular and up and coming national acts to Gainesville - everything from punk to funk to indie to ska, and the occasional tribute band - while keeping ticket prices as affordable as possible. Every show is unique and different from the last, with an emphasis on original and cohesive lineups from top to bottom while simultaneously striving to introduce fans and artists to something new and fresh every night.
