Velaphi: “A-“ One of the shining lights of the season. After being ignored for almost half a season, he came in an proved why he’s considered by many to be one of the best up and coming goalkeepers in the country. Enthusiastic and agile, he definitely was a big influence on Glory’s mini revival nearing the end of the season.
Juric: “D” This guy was not up to it at all. Sure he has experience, but he doesn’t have the ability anymore. He was too slow in the games that he appeared in, and despite his good communication skills, he never seemed to gel with his defence and as a result conceded many sloppy goals.
Petkovic: “D” His last season was not his best, and that’s an understatement. Like Juric, he was not up to it anymore, and it’s a wonder why he was still on the books 4 years after he should have been let go by the club. The silver lining was his farewell game in which (despite another poor performance) Glory came away 3-2 winners. A great servant to the club, but he will not be missed.
Coyne: “C-“ Jamie was supposed to be our big leader this season. Our captain. The guy who stood tall and pulled the team with him when times got tough. Unfortunately he was none of these things. Infact he was one of Glory’s biggest disappointments this season and most certainly not the type of player that deserved to be a captain. He should never be used in central midfield for a start.
Djulbic: “C” It’s a real shame, but Dino did not have a good season at all. Last year he was Glory’s biggest success story, coming from nowhere to suddenly being the most valuable defender in the squad. But a poor start to the 08/09 season which saw him give away a (unfair) penalty in round 2, and receive a (unfair) red card in round 3, resulted in Djulbic losing his confidence and never getting it back. His 6 game suspension for spitting at the ground was one of the dumbest bans in football history, and Perth Glory management didn’t even have the balls to appeal it.
Foxe: “N/A” Only played 2 games all year. Even though he still has the ability to be a good defender, he’s too much of a cripple to have on the team. Thankfully Mitchell has had the sense to let him go.
Tarka: “C+” Did not play many games, falling out of favor with the coach early in the season. Clearly not the player he was 3 years ago before he got injured, Tarka’s best years look to be behind him, even though he can still be god enough to fill a defensive role if need be.
Topor-Stanley: “B-“ Last season’s MGP was this season’s MUP. Most Underachieving Player. Nikolai has the ability to be a good defender, and we did see it in spurts during the season, but too often his mental breakdowns and poor decision making resulted in him being a liability more often than an asset. He appears to suffer from a lack-in-concentration ever game, and gets beaten by players too often for a player of his size.
Amaral: “A-“ Probably the most technically gifted player to ever wear a Glory shirt, Amaral was a class above in most of the games that he played. Unfortunately due to injury, he only played 7 games. Maybe he’s getting too old and fragile, but he’s still worth it. A very exciting player with a lot of flair is something that Glory fans love to see, and the club (if he manages to get fit again) would be stupid to not offer him another contract.
Anthony: “B” Came in near the end of the season from the state league and impressed. Nothing flashy, but surprisingly good. He was able to put his foot on the ball and hold his own in midfield. His size seemed to be a bit worrying, but it didn’t seem to be a problem. Not a bad player to have around next season.
Bulloch: “C-“ Another state league player, but with a long way to go. Bulloch is quick and energetic, but apart from that, everything else needs work. He often got himself into good positions to either cross or shoot, but his final touch almost always let him down. Frustrating player to say the least.
Downey: “B” Season 08/09 was not as good for Downey as the previous, but he managed to do a fairly good job when he was called upon. Excellent at long runs down the wing, but he needs to work on his crossing. If he could get that sorted out, he’d be a very dangerous player. Without his speed however, he’d be on the chopping block by now.
Pellegrino: “A-“ One of the finds of the season. It took ‘Pele’ a while to get going, but when he did, he opened the eyes of many people around the league. A short player with a lot of heart and a lot of energy, he can run all day, and he does. Scored an absolutely brilliant goal against Melbourne at MES. Players like Pellegrino are welcome at PGFC at any time.
Rizzo: “C-“ The fact that he is a ‘former Socceroo’ says a lot about how far the Socceroos have come in the last few years. Rizzo tried hard but he simply is not good enough to compete at the A-League level. He’s way too small, way too weak and way too poor at crossing/corners/free-kicks to be considered a good player for any team. Probably the best news we’ll hear in the entire off season is that Mitchell has let him go. Hallelujah!
Sekulovski: “B” Naum improved this season and didn’t make a complete fool of himself nearly as much as he’s done in the past. A few times he did things that made you scream at the TV or curse at him from the stands, but all in all, he handled himself ok this year. Versatile player and always hassling opposition, he just needs to make sure he controls his brain-farts.
Srhoj: “B” Took Srhoj a while to find his feet early in the season due to lack of fitness, but slowly consolidated himself in the middle of the park as the games progressed. By the end of the season he made himself known as a no-fuss, solid midfielder. But he could work on his quickness; he is a little slow.
Trinidad: “B” This exciting player generated a lot of interest at the start of the season, and it seemed like his was going to electrify the entire league. His ball skills and hunger was a joy to watch, even though his attitude sometimes got him into trouble with the ref. He was exactly what the Glory had been missing for the first 3 years of the A-League, but injuries and an apparent poor relationship with the coach didn’t help him. He could have done so much more for the Glory this year, but hopefully he’ll be back. Seems unlikely though.
Dadi: “A” Another one of Mitchell’s brilliant finds, Dadi brought back to Glory what Despotovski brought back in his day. Charisma, style and intelligence. Dadi did a fantastic job, netting 10 goals in 16 games and setting up many more. If he come back next season (he’s contracted to do so) you feel like he’ll be even more effective than this year.
Harnwell: “B” Typical Jamie Harwell, never give in, always give 110%. Nothing has changed attitude wise for this guy, despite him not having as an effective season as he’s had in the past. Used up front and at the back, he seemed to be more comfortable in defence this season. Age is catching up with him, but knowing Harnwell, we haven’t seen the end of him.
Rukavystya: “A” His second full season in the A-League saw him prove why he’s possibly going to be a top striker for years to come. His pace resulted in him scoring many of his 10 goals, and his partnership with Dadi worked well for the most part. If Dadi and Nikita could stick together for another season, you can bet that they’d create a formidable partnership, but unfortunately it won’t happen as ‘Ruka’ is off to Holland. Hopefully he can develop his right foot, because that was the only thing holding him back from scoring at least another 3 goals this season.
Sikora: “N/A” A high-profile signing late in the season as a replacement for Amaral, Sikora never really got going in his 5 games. Keep him around next season and I’m sure he’d only get better. He’s too classy not to.
The Count: A: 5 / B: 7 / C: 5 / D: 2

SEASON OVER
Sunday, 25th January 2009
Another year gone, another season without finals football. Its getting more and more depressing. Oh well, what can you do? Best thing is to look at the positives. We've still got Dadi, Tando looks the goods in goal, Sikora will hopefully be back next season too, we've got a few good players comming up through the youth team and Foxe is a goner.
Lets just hope Mitchell can snare a couple good signings in the off season, because if Amaral and Rukavytsya are gone, we need some good replacements for them.
There's still a core group of good players left in our squad...we just have to build on it for next season.
GFU would like to thank everyone for their support this season. Its been an interesting year and we've got some good ideas in place for next time. Keep the faith and we'll see you around!

GLORY FINALLY RE-SIGN DADI
Tuesday, 13th January 2009
Finally the deal is done! Dadi will be offically announced as a Glory player for the 09/10 season tomorrow! Thank god for that! It would have been a travesty had he been let go and signed for another club. He's quickly becoming a cult hero at this club, and we can't wait to see more of him next season. Bring it on!!!

GFU MEDIA RELEASE
Wednesday, 3rd December 2008
In the last few weeks the GFU has seemed to die in the arse. This is because of the way the club is headed and the treatment of some fans. Due to this some of the "main guys" so to speak haven't been motivated.
However this has changed because of the events that occurred in the Shed during the last home game. Basically it was dead, especially in the 1st half. Very few chants were sung and there were long periods where there were no songs or chants. When a fellow fan started the everywhere we go chant (which got everyone joining in) the GSSC decided to hijack it with their own version and completely killed the chant off. That is not what the home end is about.
About 15 of us left the Shed just before half time and went to the front of the shed (FOTS). It was way better.....Singing a few chants to Vukovic and being way closer to the action. There were a fair few younger kids (10-17yr olds) who were joining in with the chants that were getting sung.....That is what it is all about none of this age restrictions and segregation bullshit that is happening now.
It was considered at the start of the season we move to the FOTS instead of the Shed so we could be with the Tent Boys but this did not eventuate and the Tent has since become defunct as a lot of the lads were sick of the constant harassment by the APes Security. But now we have decided to go to the FOTS for the upcoming home game against Melbourne Victory. We are hoping for a fare few Tent Boys to rock up as well and it would be brilliant if we could have 50 or so singing together. There will only be a few flags and banners as a couple of the ones we made at the start of the season are unacceptable according to Goochy but feel free to bring any that you have created.
The whole purpose of the GFU was to have a UNITED home end and we feel that this is the best option especially because we can attract fans under 18 to actively get involved.
There is also going to be a fanzine and a songbook. These will be available at the Hyde Park and the Elephant & Wheelbarrow before the game and the remainder handed out at the ground. There is still the $6 pints of Tooheys New, Guiness and Killkenny available at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow before the any home game and during any away game for anyone in Glory colours.
We would like to also point out that it is not a us (GFU) vs them (GSSC) like some may think. The club may be fucked but the fans can be UNITED
Cheers
GFU

WHAT IS THE GFU?
G.F.U stands for Glory Fans United. A UNITED front for the good of the Perth Glory Football Club and ALL its Supporters.
THE CREATION OF THE GFU
The GFU was created to cure the segregation between the various supporters groups in and around the Perth Glory Football Club thus creating a UNITED home end where EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to take an active role in supporting our football club.
OUR OBJECTIVES
-To create a UNITED HOME END at all Perth Glory home games.
-To encourage as many Glory supporters as possible to take an active role in supporting Perth Glory.
-To create the most colourful and exciting matchday atmosphere that we can.
-To assist the Perth Glory FC in resurrecting its status as the Premier Football club in Australia.
-To assist Perth Glory FC's fan base in resurrecting their status of the "Best fans in the Land".
-To create a pre-match function with a matchday atmosphere, where ALL supporters are welcome.
And most of all, to support our team and have a laugh with our mates.
WHO?
EVERYONE and ANYONE who shares the love of Perth Glory Football Club. All Perth Glory fans are invited to our pre-match functions and are encouraged but in no way pressured to get involved.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Matchdays mostly – Pre-match functions and of course in the home end and at other times if required eg Banner Days etc
HOW?
-By the creation of banners, songs, tifo displays and anything else people come up with. We get together regularly to coordinate and discuss ideas.
-By gathering together in the home end at Glory matches and singing and chanting, displaying banners, tifo displays and any other means to get behind the purple shirts
WHAT WE ARE NOT..
-We have no committee, no elections, no hierarchical structure and no chairman, president or leader.
-We hold no funds nor bank accounts – ALL monies for various projects are raised by the process of chipping in.
-We do not have any joining fees or paperwork like a club does, its just a matter of showing up on the day
WHAT WE DONT DO..
-We are guided by common sense and decency – these things do not require a political correctness clause.
-While some chants and songs may sound aggressive in spirit, they remain nothing more than words
HOW TO GET INVOLVED..
Everyone and anyone is welcome to be apart of GFU. All you need to do is come along to our many functions for Glory games at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow and meet your fellow Glory fans. Once you're apart of the family, you're being involved.
To keep up-to-date with all the goings on with the GFU

And, I haven't been to Australia. Although, I plan on doing a study abroad while I'm at the Uni. I do have a friend that lives right outside of Perth though.
I actually ordered the jersey and hat from the team store itself. With the exchange rate it was pretty cheap for the jersey and hat, around 120 counting the shipping.
And, way ahead of ya on the logo sticker. I sent a message to you on here asking about it, but you just answered my question...so, do I send my address in an email?
