Glory of Joann

Eine ungewöhnliche Rockband. Wer Glory of Joann zum ersten mal vor einem ihrer Konzerte zu Gesicht bekommt, wird sicherlich nicht vermuten, was gleich auf der Bühne passieren wird.

Die vier Herren aus Eschwege sind jung, wirken zunächst schüchtern, doch die Musik, die sie machen erzählt eine andere Geschichte. Wer vor dem Konzert noch geschmunzelt hat, steht nach der Show staunend vor einem Haufen Schutt und Asche

Glory of Joann sind laut, voller überbordender Energie und überzeugen die Crowd mit schierer Kraft und mehrstimmigen Vocals, vorne weg Dominik Demandt, der mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Stimme Glory of Joann seinen unverkennbaren Stempel aufdrückt.

Sie selbst beschreiben ihre Musik augenzwinkernd als Mischung aus harten Gitarrenriffs - die den Jungs im Publikum ordentlich auf’s Maul hauen - und melodiösen Hooklines - um die Ladies rumzukriegen-. That's what Rock 'n' Roll is all about! Andere nennen als Referenzen Incubus, Billy Talent, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine und KingsX. Was auch immer es ist – es rockt konsequent.

In den zweieinhalb Jahren Bandhistorie haben Glory of Joann ihren unverkennbaren Style entwickelt und konnten die ersten kleinen und großen Schritte Richtung Weltruhm gehen.

Bereits ein halbes Jahr nach ihrer Gründung Ende 2006 veröffentlichte die Band ihr in Eigenregie produziertes Debutalbum „Glory of Joann“. Im März 2008 setzte die Jungs sich dann gegen über tausend Bands beim Spiegel.de/Viva Schooljam-Wettbewerb durch und überzeugte die Jury im Finale dermaßen, dass sie gleich beide Hauptpreise abräumten: Einen Slot bei Deutschlands größtem Festival Rock am Ring und eine Konzertreise in die USA nach Nashville/Tennessee.

Grund genug für Stefan Raab, die Jungs als erste völlig undbekannte und ungesignte Band direkt zu Talk und Performance bei „TV Total“ einzuladen - eine Ehre, die schon vielen internationalen Superstars zu Teil wurde.

Was auch immer passieren mag – 2009 wird ein fettes Jahr für Glory of Joann. Denn im Sommer beginnen die Aufnahmen zu Ihrem neuen Album, das von keinem geringeren als Fabio Trentini (H-Blockx, Donots , Guano Apes uva…) produziert und auf internationalen Sound getrimmt werden wird.

Not your usual rock band. When you see them before one of their gigs, you wouldn’t believe what’s about to happen on stage.

The four guys from Germany may be young and kind of shy but their music tells a different story. Don’t belittle them, you’ll be baffled after their show when there’s nothing left but dust and ashes.

Glory of Joann are loud, energetic and convince with pure power and harmonic vocals with the truly exceptional voice of Dominik Demandt who’s giving the band their characteristic sound.

They describe their music as a mix of hard guitar riffs that punch you in the face and hook lines with pretty melodies to pull the ladies. That’s what Rock 'n' Roll is all about! Others name references such as Incubus, Billy Talent, Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine and KingsX. Whatever it may be – it rocks mercilessly.

In the two and a half years of their existence, Glory of Joann developed their distinctive and original style and took their first steps towards worldwide fame.

Only six months after they started in late 2006, the band released their first self-produced album “Glory of Joann”. In March 2008 the three guys excelled in the national band contest “Schooljam” in Germany where they competed against more than a thousand bands and scooped both of the big prizes: a gig at Germany’s largest festival Rock am Ring and a gig tour in the States in Nashville/Tennessee.

Reason enough for Stefan Raab, the famous German TV presenter, to invite Glory of Joann as the first unsigned band to his late night show on national TV, where many international superstars have been before.

This year is going to be a big one for Glory of Joann. In the summer they’ll start recording their new album with producer Fabio Trentini (H-Blockx, Donots, Guano Apes, etc.) who’s promising to deliver an excellent international sound.
