The music of Glow has been described as an updated, modern style of post-goth synth-pop that blends the uptempo beats and sounds of retro with reflective, emotional lyrics. The mixture of guitar and electronica creates a unique mood that is hard to categorize.
Formed in St. Louis in the fall of 2002, Glow's first release, Gabriel, was released in January of 2003. It contains several of Glow's first recordings, and was praised for its "lush", "ambient", "melodic sound" and Brooke's "ethereal vocals".
Glow's first full-length CD, Rain Theory, improved on the best of the Gabriel EP. From the hard-hitting "Single" to the plaintive-yet-danceable "The Wind That Shakes The Barley", Rain Theory’s layered musical textures and melodic vocals move in a more upbeat direction while still maintaining their emotional intensity.
"The Years" is Glow's most recent album, released in Nov. 2005. The music is more atmospheric, but continues the emotional and catchy melodies that unmistakably mark their own style.
My husband psychlocke introduced me to your music. He knows I am a compulsive music junkie. He knew I would like you guys very much. I told him I want all your CD's for Xmas. He hinted that I might get my wish. Check out my page when you have a chance. I have a ton of music friends from all over the world. Trying to collect everything I can. Have over 300 CD's in our collection.
I can stop listen to Alive from The Years. Could you post this song on your player? The Years is a beautiful Album I just download from !Tunes since at this moment I am deployed to Kuwait. Do not bring my cd's with me. lol
