Anthony McCormick was born October 11, 1969 in Chicago, IL, played Quarterback at South Shore Community Academy and Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, FL where he obtained a degree in Computer Information Systems.
McCormick played 10 years of Semi-pro football (1995 - 2005) with the Chicago Hts Broncos, Missouri Motion, St. Louis Bulldogs, Metro East/Madison City Stallions, St. Louis Spirit, St. Louis Saints and Belleville Justice.
In 2005, McCormick retired from football due to a laundry list of injuries. In his final season McCormick help lead the Belleville Justice to their 2nd straight division title in the Midwest Football League.
In June of 2006, McCormick started working with the St. Louis Saints as a videographer it was at that time Saints owner Tony Jeffery apporached McCormick and offered him a position with the organization as the team Vice President. Also during this time McCormick was in the process of laying the foundation for the Great Midwest Football League.
The Great Midwest Football League concept became official on March 27,
2007 when the league was in incorporated in the State of Missouri. On June 16, 2007 the Great Midwest Football League begin its inaugural season of play with eleven (11) teams and two (2) divisions. The League concluded the season with it's first ever Great Midwest Football League Super Bowl and 1st Annual North vs. South All-Star Game. On December 17, 2007, the Great Midwest Football League was honored by the Minor League Football News as Best New League (Midwest) and McCormick was honored as Commissioner of the Year (Midwest).
On a persoanl note, McCormick owns A McCormick Design, a web design, print, and photography company based in Alton, IL, has 4 daughters; Elizabeth Lauren(16), Tonie Lin(12), Taylor Leigh(11) and Teri Lorraine(4) who he thanks for supporting him in this dream.
Anthony's favorite sport teams are the Florida A&M Rattlers (MEAC) Chicago Bears (NFL) and Chicago Cubs (MLB).
