Born of the name Christopher Reid on October 28, 1979, G Monei is inspired by the likes of Veteran deejay Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Buju Bantan,Spragga Benz,Bounty Killer and anyone that makes good music.
G Monei has been around for quite some time. He has been ghost writing for some of the bigger names such as Alozade, Vegas and Chico. He co/wrote Alozade’s first hit single “Nuh pet gal” and many others such as “Chi Chi dem” ,” Under Me Skunk” and others which established Alozade’s name in the industry. He was also the road manager for Mr. Vegas where he traveled local and abroad which gave him some experiences that could benefit his own career.
Currently he is working on getting himself some recognition and has already graced us with music videos for his singles ”Senseless killing/some gal” medley, along with two others done before which has been receiving heavy rotation from Hype TV, RE TV, Music Plus, TVJ and CVM Television. He has previously recorded a song titled “Horny” on the Red bull & Guinness Rhythm which was adapted by VP Records along with “Suffering” which was added to VP’s ‘Riddim Driven’ compilation. He also has other singles soon to be released such as “Feel Like” (Mr.Wilks label) and “Go fi weh we want” produced by Italee and now his latest single which is now creating a buzz (Dont Wanna Cry)produced by him. .
G Monei is blessed with a diverse sound which allows him to both sing and deejay, he speaks what is on his mind and is not afraid to address issues if the task is at hand. Despite the many rise and falls to come he is more than determined to make the most of his opportunities, while he enjoys making good music.
