About me: Rock and Roll Gearhead- 4 Days with Billy Gibbons is a rare, behind-the-scenes look at legendary blues guitarist Billy F.Gibbons, known worldwide as co-founder of that lil ol band from Texas, ZZ Top.
Billy, whose career spans 40 years, was said to be one of Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitar players. Songs such as La Grange , Tush, and Legs remain staples on rock radio decades after being penned. Billy continues to be a pivotal force in music and hugely respected amongst peers. His recent recording collaborations include artists such as Queens of The Stone Age, Kid Rock, B.B. King, Nickelback and Les Paul. Outside his well-known collection of custom cars and guitars, Billy's personal life has remained an enigma to many until now. For the first time he allowed his life to be captured through the eyes of indie-filmmaker Jamie Burton Chamberlin. Rock and Roll Gearhead is the ultimate backstage ticket that documents the release of Billy's first book, rare studio and radio appearances, his diverse fan base, and the people that surround him. This is unprecedented access rated for tone, taste, and tenacity!!!
Who I'd like to meet: Greetings ZZ TOP fans near and far,
On the merit of "Rock and Roll Gearhead" film Billy invited me to go on tour to document ZZ TOP shows through the US and Europe in 2008 . This was an amazing experience as it was the first time ever the band allowed a filmmaker to board the bus and spend the amount of time filming them as I did.
The culmination of that footage is nearing completion and will soon be released internationally with the current working title- "ZZ TOP Double Down Live".
Most of the footage was captured on a single camera pointed at a new subject or angle each night. It was my ambition to capture ZZ in a form best suited for them... Raw!
So keep your ears to the ground... It'll be available in the upcoming months.
Have Mercy Yall!

Thx for the invite. It'd be cool to go but I can't make it over there. I do plan on picking up the DVD tomorrow though. That is a widespread release, right, not a exclusive store or online thing, right?
Dude! That's such great news! I think I have a boot from the rockpalast show (I'm guessing that's the same show). DDL is a major score! It'd still be cool to see RRGH get released but, still, way to go!
Thanx for the add,Im a big BFG fan,if you cant already tell,by the shape of my home made guitar. The Gearhead book was awsome, and Im praying that a dvd will be released, youve got my full support on that.keep on bluezzin and cruizzin.God bless
