IAfter nearly a year away from the stage, Goat Motor has started up the engine for a run of shows beginning in late July.
In late 2003 Goat Motor formed as a trio and embarked on a journey which found them sharing the stage with acts such as The Flaming Lips, Oteil Burbridge, Cold War Kids, Violent Femmes, Cowboy Mouth, and countless other musical gems.
In 2007 they released their first full-length studio album to which acclaimed Chicago Sun-Times Rock critic Jim DeRogatis stated:
"within the first 30 seconds of "Law Man" the opening track on its self-titled 10-song album, It pretty much covers all the bases of what a hard-driving, vintage 70's power trio ought to do, giving us the massive rhythms (complete with cowbell), deliriously fuzz-drenched, Marshall-amplified guitars, and rip-roarin' whiskey-tinged vocal expressing bad-boy disdain for officers of the law. Good stuff."
Now in 2009 the members of Goat Motor have learned not to take music so seriously. The music flows at it's own pace, whether it be hard-driven or Avant Garde. And after almost six years of playing together they've finally gotten what they wanted in that.
Maybe it's because I'VE LOST MY MIND, or just as an appreciation for ALL THE SUPPORT from my many myspace friends, but I'm allowing FREE DOWNLOADS of all the songs on my page.
