On a late October afternoon in 1999 I met up with my good friend Jason Crigler who I hadn’t seen in years. Jason had sent me cassette tapes of various music projects he had worked with through out the 90s but when he handed me a copy of ‘When the Morning comes’ by Goats in Trees ~ I knew it was going to be something very special. That night in my Hotel room I listened to the CD over and over again. What a beautiful album! Jason and Monica’s voices blend expertly and the whole album has a smooth warm feel to it. Monkey in the Middle, and Go down slow, are stunning, and the title track is a delicious song brimming with passionate vocals and expressive instrumentation. Thank you for a great album folks, I loved Clover off Smoke and Mirrors too, and a few other tracks I can’t recall at the moment. I know you’re all involved in other projects now, but I hope we’ll get another album someday.
