Music
Lately (as of early Nov. '06), I've been listening to a lot of Honeycut, 8mm, Junior Boys, Aimee Mann, Frou Frou, Guster, Imogen Heap, The Lingus, The Muffs, Mundy, Nirvana, Pilot Speed, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, Sugarcult, Teddybears, Turin Brakes, Weezer, The Wonderfuls, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Movies
If the movie involves vampires, the supernatural, action, or horror, count me in! If it's drama or comedy, we'll see. Forget about mushy chick flicks & period pieces... I only watch those if I'm forced to by a friend's burning desire to plunk down $6 to see a steaming pile of crapola. (Well, unless there's a good sex scene.)
"Select All": I have rarely come across a book I don't enjoy. I read a lot and the only way a book can foil me is by being exceedingly boring (very few qualify - I even read the dictionary, that's how big a wordie I am), too juvenile (goodbye Lemony Snickett), or The Phantom Tollbooth. Try as I might, I could never get through the Phantom Tollbooth.
Anyway, remember, the book is always better than the movie.
Heroes
Be your own superhero.
Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become what they are capable of being.

I'm vivacious and up for anything. Shallow people, bad grammar/spelling, and people who lack common sense annoy me. If I like someone, I show it through playful mocking. I'm a little reserved at first, at least until I get a sense of the other person's reactions. After that, however, I warm quickly and am soon talking too much. I am easily amused and comfortable with silence. I was a jock in high school, but I now tend toward individual activities (like yoga & scuba diving).
Disclaimer: I am a geek/nerd. If I call you a big nerd, it's a compliment.
Who I'd like to meet: people who have strong opinions and the facts to back them up, aren't allergic to books, and have big, sexy brains. A tall order, I know.

I don't necessarily want people with whom I have many hobbies in common as I love to learn new things. The upside of this is that I have many talents, the downside is that I sometimes spread my time to too many projects at once. I am a jack of all trades, master of some.
Hey CATTIE.... THANKS FOR YOUR X MAS CARD... I GOT IT TODAY... AND I WAS REALLY HAPPY TO RECEIVE IT... Thank you so much, i really miss you too... and yes please leave the artic... you found your man so leave the artic and keep you warm .... take care..
I would be interested to see if anyone noticed me claiming four birthdays a year.
This country is lagging behind. In the 70's the 50's were in fashion. Now it is the 70's for the first time. I inherited several vintage suits from my grandfather, & I'd wear them even if it wasn't trendy. I'm a vagabond.
What are you talking about? My birthday is totally the first. :|
While I did like Flight of the Conchords when I saw their comedy a few years ago, I kinda get annoyed that so many people think they know something about NZ just because they have seen FotC's show. I was dressed in the long popular Kiwi fashion, one that FotC also partake in. It is not the "FotC look".
I hated Windows 2000, but got XP pretty soon after it came out & didn't mind it at all, so when I say DONT GET VISTA IT IS AWFUL! You know I just hate change.
I think standing up for myself and not going home for holidays cause I would be too stressed was a good moment for me, meeting a good friend of mine named Seth, and getting out of the rut I was in. ^^ Those were all good!!
Cat you're more radiant than ever! I hope you have a fantastic year with ups and downs, something worth appreciating in the end. Thanks really for getting back in touch with me. I definitely smiled for you. ^^ Well, take care! Tell me one great memory of last year!~~

Seth: Look, we all know Home Ec. is a joke. No offense. It's just like everyone takes this class to get an A. It's bullshit, and I'm sorry. And I'm not putting down your profession, but it's just the way I feel. I don't want to sit here all by myself, cooking this shitty food - no offense - and I just think that I don't ever need to cook tiramisu. When am I gonna need to cook tiramisu? Am I gonna be a chef? [pause] Seth: No. There's three weeks left in school - give me a fuckin' break. I'm sorry for cursing.
