Sounds Like
While actually sounding a little bit unique (in our opinion), we fall heavily into the progressive metal and doom metal categories. Lots of resemblences with some of the bands mentioned above.
God Blessed Devil originally started out in 2003 under the name Arachne, in which we had the opportunity to play Rockin The Rivers (w/ Alice Cooper) and opened up for the female AC/DC tribute Whole Lotta Rosies (now called Thund-Her-Struck). We were, essentially, a prog/rock cover band that played Iron Maiden, Faith No More, Queensryche, Tool, Dream Theater and Motley Crue songs as well as starting to write a couple of originals.
Arachne broke up by December of 2003, but reformed around May of 2004. Drummer Adrian Sebastian had been replaced by Andrew Ellmaker, and Vocalist Neil Murphy had grown distant from the project. At that time, we decided to not only change vision, but the name as well. Our friend Shane Moore came up with the name (in drunken banter), and we decided to focus on seeing what we could fully do as far as writing originals.
By October of 2005, the band had essentially broken up. Cori moved back to Dillon, John was completely taken up with finishing his degree, Andrew was busy with work, and Kevin was working an odd schedule on top of getting used to being married.
Since then, John has moved away from Butte to persue his career...Kevin and Cori have joined the band River Runs Red, and Andrew has just kept doing his thing. Kevin decided to get the guys back together to record the songs that we wrote only a matter of a couple of years ago and do them some justice, even possibly get a cd out there. The newer demos on this page are just a sample of the direction and sound that we are going for. If you dig where we are going with the project, hit us up and tell us what you think.
