Tim Steinruck grew up in northern rural British Columbia, Canada. The local church, where his father was the organist, was where Tim began building his music foundations. Singing in the choir taught him about harmony and the blending of tones while 'specials' on Sundays began shaping him as a performer. Without television, entertainment was family and friends getting together to sing, play, and create elaborate, improvised acting performances. Tim experimented with drums, piano, organ, guitar and bass guitar. At the age of 13, he went to his first live rock concert at the local high-school. He instantly realized his purpose.
At an early age Tim left home, moved to the nearest city and finished school. While playing in local bands, he worked at a gas station and surfed the couches of friends and their kind parents. After graduation, Tim and his friend Frank, armed with only their amps and guitars, bought one-way tickets to Vancouver and set off in search of stardom. Life in the big city was humbling and sometimes desperate, but Tim remained steadfast in his goal of becoming a rock star.
In the early 90's Tim had his first appointment with stardom. 'Unchained', the band of which he was a member, was able to get one of their recordings into the hands of Paul Stanley of the band Kiss, one of Tim's childhood heroes. A potentially multi-million dollar record deal was signed and Tim once again liquidated his belongings, except for his van, before the trip to L.A. where he would record what would hopefully become the debut album. As he and the band rode from the airport in a stretch limousine with their music playing, on the way to their hotel on Sunset Boulevard, the euphoria of that moment overwhelmed him. His dream had come true. The recording session was a total success until it's very end, when it came time to add the lead vocalist's part. The singer, overcome by the pressure, was unable to perform, and in the blink of an eye..........stardom vanished.
Living in his van, unemployed, with his acoustic guitar and his dreams stripped away, Tim was forced to take a real inventory of his life. Though he continued on the elusive road to fame and fortune for the next 10 years, the attraction to it, and the lifestyle it required, became less and less appealing, empty, and often painful. Tim began writing songs that helped him understand and accept the life he was creating. In early 2000, Tim restructured his life and began searching for, and accepting, the true meaning of his existence.
God'sChair is the product of that acceptance. It is a gift that was given to Tim once he was able to live free of the illusions that we all must face at some point in our lives. That gift is the connection to Source.......... where true power and stardom lie. A new and exciting path has opened for Tim built from his deep spiritual roots, struggles with fame and ego, and a life lived within the moment. It has crystallized his talent to expose his true purpose realized so many years ago.................... Awakening.
