At the age of four, Godsown girl began ministering through song at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Evans, GA. Throughout her youth and teen years, she became locally recognizable by participating in talent shows, recording studio background vocals, and being a featured vocalist for various ministry engagements. Nurtured by family and friends, and inspired by such greats as The Clark Sisters, Darryl Coley, Tremaine and Walter Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Milton Brunson, Ricky Dillard, and Donald Lawrence, her passion for “all things choir” matured as the Holy Spirit made her calling obvious. An anointed soloist and choir director, Godsown girl's talent for teaching and leading was recognized when she was appointed a co-choir director of the Sanctuary, Youth, and Young Adult choirs for the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. She was also a component and lead singer of the Paine College Gospel Choir under the direction of Pastor Michael B. Wright of Decatur, GA.
Since moving to Atlanta, GA in 1998, Godsown girl has been seen performing at Music Midtown in 2002 and 2003, has been featured on background vocals for gospel legends Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Norman Hutchins, has sown seeds in various ministries such as “The Gathering 2005” (Minister Creflo Dollar), “Megafest 2005” (Bishop T.D. Jakes), Greater Saint Stephen Full Baptist Church (Bishop Paul Morton), and has appeared on “Praise the Lord” on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). She has ministered with the group “Today’s Generation” of Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of Gospel recording sensation Minister Derrick Starks. She has contributed lead and background vocals to the complimentary CD to Mininister Job Titus Cannon’s debut inspirational writing endeavor “Standing Tall While Facing the Trials That Come Your Way”. Most recently, she has contributed to the anointed ministry of Natasha Lockhart. Godsown girl currently serves faithfully as a licensed minister and intercessor and serves in the incomparable “Voices of New Life” at New Life International Family Church in Decatur, GA (www.nlifc.org) under the pastorate of Bishop Apostle Jeronn C. Williams, PhD.
