GoGirlsNY is the NY branch of GoGirlsMusic.com. Trish N. Thomas is the chapter coordinator for GoGirlsNY.
GoGirlsMusic.com's mission is to promote, support and empower indie women in music! Madalyn Sklar started the organization in 1996 with a vision of bringing together independent women musicians from around the country. 12 years later, GoGirlsMusic.com has become a welcome destination for women in music through networking and events. GoGirls produces the GoGirlsMusicFest, Invasion of the GoGirls, Battle of the GoGirls and more. In the last 8 years, Sklar has spearheaded well over 100 benefit showcases for various organizations including the Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, MusiCares, American Liver Foundation, Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation and more. She has spoken on music panels at 2NMC, Dewey Beach, Dfest, DIY Convention, Folk Alliance, Hyperactive Music Festival, Invasion of the GoGirls, Millennium Music Conference, NEMO, Rockrgrl and South Park Music Festival. She's been a judge for the Outmusic Awards from 2003-2006, named one of 10 Powerful Women in Music by Curve magazine and was named one of the 15 People You Should Know In the Biz by Indie-Music.com.

I passed a transition 1 year ago, I was "just" a vocalist and writer for years and I finally left a band, to focus on my own music, learning the piano to accompany myself, learned to perform my songs, moved to New York City and finally I'm playing them live.... and I am French :) Thanks for supporting women in Music!!!!! We ROCK!!!!
