1998年高校の同級生（鹿児島出身）であったユウ（G&Vo）アッコ（B&Vo）が結成。
1999年ターキー（Dr）が加わり2000年シングル「太陽」でデビュー。
「ジェットにんぢん」「こいのうた」「C７」「浮舟」等、多数のヒット曲を発表。以降、オリジナリティ溢れる楽曲 と高い演奏力を武器にライヴハウスから日本武道館まで、ライヴを中心とした活動を精力的に展開。
2007年には海外へも活動を広げ、アメリカツアーを敢行。
2008年「2マンTour徹子のHair」、日比谷野外音楽堂2Days、夏フェス出演、新・エレキ大作戦Vol2を開催。そして「おまたせツアー」「ねんまツアー」と激動のライブYearとなった。
2009年1月14日Newシングル「ふたしかたしか」、2月4日Newアルバム「アンテナ」をリリースし、『ヘンテナツアー09』『ねんまツアー09』も大盛況にて終了。
以降もイベントやライブを積極的に展開。
2010年6月2日には8枚目となるアルバム「Go!!GO!GO!Go!!」をリリースし、現在『Go!!GO!GO!Go!! Tour』を敢行中。

●GO!GO!7188 biography
GO!GO!7188 formed in 1998 by YUU(singer/guitarist) and AKKO(singer/bassist),high school classmates in Kagoshima prefecture.
In 1999, they head to Tokyo where meet drummer TURKEY and the band makes its major debut from TOSHIBA EMI in 2000.
Ever since they have released 9 full length albums, 12 singles and 3DVDs.
When they made their debut in the Japanese music scene, they were quoted to be one of the leading girl's punk band which mixes rock'n roll music with Japanese pop.
They have raised their evalution as one of most important Japanese rock bands,making performances in live houses events to Nippon Budokan hall,with songs which is full of originality and high performance ability.
Moreover,「KOINOUTA」which was released in 1999 updates a super-long sales record,and is still downloaded and a popular tune.
In 2002, both Yuu and Akko start working solo and each of them have released two albums.
They have released their 12th single 「KINKYORI RENNAI」 on 2006,Sept 13th and their 5th album 「PARADE」, on 2006 November 18th, from TOSHIBA EMI.
「PARADE」 hit the forth place on its first appearance on Japanese representive chart magazine[Oricon] They did "MICHIZURE TOUR" of 22 cities in Japan from Nov.16th to Jan.27th.
They have finished Japan Nite US tour 2007 and played at Knitting Factory in NY,Empty Bottle in Chicago,Knitting Fatory in LA,the independent in SF and The Elysium(SXSW) in Austin as a head liner.It was a great and success US debut.
Their new single(the 13th) "MANATSU NO DANCE HALL" is releasing on June 28th from BMG JAPAN And then, on Oct. 24th, releases the 6th album all-together “569”, the first full-album after the transfer. The ‘sugoroku—tour’ making rounds to 28 locations around Japan takes place starting Nov. 14 throughout January of 2008.
Their new single(the 14th) "KATAOMOI FIGHTER" and their 2nd cover album "TORA NO ANA 2" are releasing on May 28th from BMG JAPAN.
GO!GO!7188 2-man Tour「TETSUKO NO Hair」is scheduled!!
And then,GO!GO!7188 one man live「6･21 JIKEN」has been scheduled on 21th June in 2008!!
And then, The ‘omatase—tour’ making rounds to 16 locations around Japan takes place starting Oct. 5 throughout December of 2008. Their new live DVD"621 JIKEN" and their live album&document DVD "2-man Tour TETSUKO NO Hair + Open Night Family 〜YOAKE NO KAZOKU〜" will be releasing on October 29th from BMG JAPAN.
