Und zwar ungehobelten old school RAW SOUL der 60er Jahre. Die Rhythm Section flankiert von unermüdlich bretternden Bläsern geht derart beherzt zu Werke, dass vergessen geglaubte Soul Nummern richtiggehend erglühen. Am Bühnenrand zeigt Soul Brother Smokey Brooks wie's geht. Wild gestikulierend, keuchend, schreiend und stöhnend -- doin' the Monkey! Mittendrin macht die umwerfende Miss BRANDY BUTLER die Sache klar. Die Black Soul Lady aus Philadelphia zeigt unweigerlich Gänsehaut, ekstatisches Hip Shakin' sowie gleichzeitiges Freudengeschrei und Wehklagen. This is Raw Soul, sock' it to me! Die Über-50Jährigen unter Euch erinnern sich mit Jubel im Herzen an die Zeit, als Soul-Allniter noch nicht in „fancy Clublocations“ stattfanden, sondern in Pinten, Kneipen und Kaschemmen, in denen man von stockbesoffenen Scooterboys Liebesschwüre zugeraunt bekam. THE HORSE lässt diese Tradition am Samstag wieder aufleben, nur das es keine Pinte, sondern die fabulöse Pilsstube Ritter ist und unsere Betrunkenen sind gutaussehende junge Frauen! Weg vom Club, rein in die Kneipe!
