The Goistron sentry is a gigantic reactive automaton built by an ancient and extinct alien race to serve as a guardian to several nearby galaxies including our own Milky Way. Shortly before self-activation, evidence suggests that the automaton sentry was resting in hibernation 160,000 light years away near N 63, a star-forming region in an irregular galaxy known as the Large Magellanic Cloud, (LMC). The identity of the astronomer and physicist who discovered this phenomenon was lost to a chosen few in power. This group of autocrats operate somewhere above the commonly known branches of the U.S. Government and have complete control over media and information within American society. After an era of unprecedented political corruption that grew into wide scale fruition during the early 21st century the international community was in a state of dramatic unrest.
A toxic and unstable mixture consisting of major increases in misinformation, nationalism, propaganda, religious fanaticism, as well as major decreases in effective international diplomacy, public literacy rates, access to quality education and healthcare led to an unfortunate course of action that was taken by officials in Washington. Nuclear exchanges that began with the Peoples Republic of China and that subsequently drew other nations into world wide conflict finally tipped the scales of war and peace on Earth.
In approximately five years the neural cortex inside reactive automaton SA001 will be activated in deep space, artificial consciousness will render online and the Goistron sentry will be armed and ready for operational program, (partial English translation), "Rendezvous: positioning for initial confrontation."
