    Reading (literary fiction and, especially, literary SF), writing, and filmmaking, primarily; also: art, astronomy, hiking, humor (in all its forms), movies, politics, philosophy, science, sex, travel and probably many other things that aren't leaping to mind right now.

  • Music

    Ben Folds, Bowling for Soup, Carbon Leaf, Dulahan, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, the Fray, the Gabe Dixon Band, Liam's Fancy, and countless others. My musical tastes run the gamut: opera, crooners, alternative rock, pub songs, pop rock, etc.

  • Movies

    Serenity, Casablanca, Love Actually, Sin City, Boondock Saints, Poutrygeist (and ALL Troma films), Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, anything by Quentin Tarantino (but especially Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Reservoir Dogs), Desperado, El Mariachi, Grosse Point Blank, High Fidelity, Blade Runner, Superman Returns, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, and many, many more. I like a lot of different kinds of movies, obviously. And this list is in no particular order.

  • Television

    I am a fan of (in alpha order): Angel, Battlestar Galactica, Deadwood, Family Guy, Firefly, Heroes, Hyperdrive, The Office, Pushing Daisies, Rome, Scrubs, The Simpsons, and a few others that are either canceled or I don't watch regularly.

  • Books

    Anything by Neal Stephenson. Elmore Leonard is fun to read, when I'm in the mood. Also: Douglas Adams, Richard Bach, Nicholson Baker, Bill Bryson, Jonathon Carroll, Don DeLillo, Warren Ellis, Harlan Ellison, Neal Gaiman, David Guterson, Christopher Moore, Thomas Pynchon, Donna Tartt, and lots more. Generally, I tend to read literary science fiction, but I am open to just about anything, from the classics on up.
