   About The Gold Blades

The Gold Blades

The Day I went down to Texas Part 3

Lovely Day

The Sun Seems to shine in the depths of my heart

Formed by a group of friends determined to make music just for the hell of it. Ian had been in previous Arbroath worthies Henry & Mary and The Wilderness Children who included members from Dundee. Lynn and Wendy had been in Skinnipin. John was borrowed from the Dundee band Wildhouse. Gordon just decided that he wanted to be in a band.

The band got played on Radio Scotland and appeared at Edinburgh University supporting The Motorcycle Boy. That was as big time as it got.

The band finally called it a day when they heard about John Robb calling his new band Gold Blade. We felt a bit miffed at the time because he obviously got media exposure and thus claimed the name from us. He has recently apologised for our upset. Good bloke.

Nowadays we all have families and live in the four corners of the UK. The next bit of new music from us will probably be from our offspring.

You might know my brother, Alan Peacock, aka Chugger, aka Plum. He's 31, so a bit closer to your age, you young pup.

He DJs in a few places - the last place was at Zoe Cooper's music night at the Inverpark.
