Last month’s GOLD DUST hit new high’s of sonic excellence last month and was one hell of a party. Since turning 1 years old in the summer, GOLD DUST have gone from strength to strength and with glowing reviews in the national press and we’re fast becoming one of the highlights on London’s music scene. GOLD DUST is now one of the places to go for new pop music, sourcing and presenting exciting new live acts and conjuring up an electric atmosphere with more pretty people than you can shake a disco stick at.
First up on this month’s fresh new line-up of comes headliners Futurecop! The retro electro duo are already being hailed as the British Daft Punk with their euphoric tunes and deep robo-beats. They’ve collaborated a wide variety of artists from Christian Rich to Yo Majesty, as well as remixing Crystal Castles, Yo Majesty and Black Kids. To date they’ve released with iHEARTCOMIX for USA and Southern Fried Records for the rest of the world. They remain busy with various live performances, DJ sets and the making of their first album. This is their second trip to GOLD DUST.
We enjoyed so much the triumphant debut of The Cordelier Club at GOLD DUST last month, that we’ve decided to get them back for another show this month. The brother/sister duo were awesome at this year’s Bestival and have a timeless sound that recalls elements of Fleetwood Mac and Eurythymics, The Cordelier Club are bring excellent songwriting to the fore and were hailed by the BBC as one of the top 5 acts at this year’s Camden Crawl.
One of The Guardian and Elle magazine’s one’s to watch for 2010, 16 year old future sensation Daisy Coburn brings her self proclaimed “delirious funky produce” act Daisy Dares You to East London for her GOLD DUST debut. Signed to Sony after a fierce bidding war, Daisy’s a guitar wielding blonde bombshell on a mission to bring her pop with attitude tunes to an audience who fancy someone with a bit more bite that Pixie Lott and a lot more hair than Pixie Geldof.
Last but certainly not least is this month’s opening act, Joe Danger. A damn good reason to get down to Hoxton early, he will be bringing his quirky blend of soul, funk and electro to the party. With his two delectable ‘Dangerettes’ - a cross between Bond Girls and The Supremes – they will collectively be unleashing their musical dynamite for the very first time in London at GOLD DUST. Resident DJ Ben Pistor from the notorious Disco Bloodbath will be on hand to keep you dancing under the disco ball til the early hours.
