KiaOra and welcome to Golden Bay Records' MySpace...

We are a New Zealand based record label formed in early 2000 based in Golden Bay at the top of the South Island, home to one of New Zealand's busiest and most positive dance scenes.

An important part of an already bustling local dance culture, Golden Bay Records has released electronic music from label co-founders and former Matipo Pyramid members Max Maxwell and Bluey, as well as other talented New Zealand artists.

c r a s h	Aug 28 2009 10:10 AM Track 14 from 24 tracks to be released 01-01-10 From the albums 'Themes For Life' c r a s h releases his next track from the journey through sound that is 'Themes For Life' This track grew from an initial piano loop and has ventured down the (f)IDM musical genre route -that's (fairly) Intelligent Dance Music although c r a s h has no ambition to write in the dance genre. Eventually the track has built into one of the most ambitious yet subtle tracks of the last few months. As it builds through 5 minutes of musical mayhem the overdubbing builds layer upon layer until there is no sonic room left or indeed any timbre spaces left unfilled. Featuring Drum machines, Real kits, Subsonic bass, Real piano, Voice samples, Soprano saxophone, strings and percussion. Best listening; Large speaker system, second bottle of wine, whilst watching life. *' When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men'*....
