SMITHS EVENT - 500 SONGS FOR KIDS is a 10-day live music marathon running from May 1st to May 10th at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, Georgia. We will be counting down the 500 GREATEST SING-A-LONG SONGS OF ALL TIME with 500 DIFFERENT ARTISTS. This will be the largest musician involved charity event ever in Georgia, bringing together roughly 1500 individually performing musicians - all for an incredible cause. Songs For Kids Foundation is a non-profit foundation that enriches the lives of children in need through music. Once upon a time, the Mayor chose to speak to a group of intangibles... peeps of a judging peepishness for a stone stellar program. He brought along twangstik maestro DArEEgS for
assistance. Unbeknownst to the Mayor, in attendance was a man of many names, most notably to those that matter, Dr. J. The Dr. had heard many speak this day and was not duly impressed so much until the Mayor began his rant. After his raspberry elocution where it would come together, the Mayor was approached by the good Dr. inquiring as to his professional sicheeayshun. DArEEgS was at first on-guard with the Dr. but warmed to his banter when he discovered the Dr.'s name was not in fact Inigo Montoyo. Phone numbers were exchanged and all three parted with high hopes and big swirly-colored lollypops.
When the Dr. suggested meeting to mix up some noise, he brought with him to the table his old pal, Mr. Brickstar, low tone extraordinaire. At first, the Brickstar was not as easily swayed by the Mayor's visions of grandeur, but slowly he was hypnotized into believing (try Wild Turkey and Maker's Mark, these help). The collective became known by a name referring to a cemetery custodian's main job description, otherwise known as D.I.G. But soon an introduction to a man would help change all of that. That man is Pozz.
Of course, Pozz is no ordinary man. On top of having a BA, BM, MD, PHD and being a BMF besides, he is also quite prodigious at the tickling of ivories. Parachuting in to learn and enhance the funky stylings of these four, a new level of enlightenment was attained. With a new birth of ability and ideas, a new name was needed to highlight this mark.
Behold, the birth of GoldenFro.
