Golden Quality was formed sometime around the end of September 2007, with the legendary Mark Peaslee and Ben Ucherek as well as new comer Larry Bent. With their love of awful emo and cheap beer they were off and running. Mark had an amp that actually farted and was covered in tweed and pit stains while Larry was playing through a fender 15watt amp w/ a squire bullet guitar. Ben often wondered why he showed up at all.... But then one day an addition walked through the doorway of a cat piss infested and shit stained 8x10 room that would help take what is now known as Golden Quality(formerly The Boobies, meet the curtains, and/or Hatchet Wound(only known by the members before now), to the next level. His name is.... Mr. Bob Fish! Bass extraordinaire and owner of the biggest sunglasses I have ever had the privilege of knowing a man actually has and wears them like a man should. On his face!! Well anyway the band started to gel, Larry got a new amp, Marks amp kept on farting and I swear I heard Ben say "That kind of sounded like music". after that first practice! Golden Quality played there first show April 10th at Mike N' Molly's and survived. Now there looking for shows and trying to get some recordings up on this here myspace soon. We have the luck of being surrounded by good friends that will lie to us and say we rock! Thanks again.. So were going to keep running with this thing and see what happens...... Now That's Golden Quality!
-July 21st, 2008, We hit Boombox studio's in Urbana, Illinois for the first time. Set out for two days and six songs we quickly learned that our beer drinking and short attention spans would slow the process down a little. Who could of guessed, right? 2 weeks later we had an un-mixed ep and it's going from there. Thanks for your ears, your personal stuff usage, and your patience Caleb, you rock. Thanks also to Elzie for putting yo' finger magic to the tracks.
-August 21st, 2008 was the last show of Bob Fish aka- The extraordinaire @ The Highdive with Backyard Tire Fire and The Tractor Kings. Him and his lovely wife and fury little child Sophie are moving to Portland, Oregon after playing the game Oregon Trail. They liked it. Bob will be sorely missed and we wish him the best of luck. He will be replaced however by someone who is not new to the realm of champaign music. The one and only Mister Jim Mefford(formerly of Fidgetbrick, ADHD, and Mad Science Fair). Like a blind man in an orgy he's going to feel his way into this one fairly quick and easily. So no worries champaign were not going anywhere. We plan on hurting bar patrons ears for a long time to come. So again, good luck Bob and Cassie we'll see you in the funny papers.
thanks a bunch! alana and i both got a cold, so we've been sick ever since then. we'll definitely keep in touch. i was damn near blackout drunk by the time we left that night, so i don't remember if we got to hang out much, but i really dug your music. cheers, brett
hey dudes hows it going, pygmalion huh, that sounds like a blast. hoping to be in illinois by chirstmas, chirs and paula are having a baby so i got to see it. hopefully i can get some champaign time in.

I had my marketing cap on about a week ago and with all the bad news; the Taliban in Pakistan, the looming Chyrsler bankruptcy, the new flu epidemic, etc; I decided to go with a more optimistic theme for this summer in a bumper sticker (old school). I think its working. There are currently a little more than 50 cars in the Branson area sporting this lil’ beauty. (Yes, I comped them) What do you think?
are you going to send me a copy of the cd when its done? ill buy it. are you recording now? how have the shows been? are you thinking about cumming to portland? free beer.
