Golden Teardrops is the duo of Lorelie Landavora (formerly of Spring Boutique/Under Shooting Stars) and Ryan Marquez (Apple Orchard, Sodajerk, Dorian of Juniper Bells). Their name was taken from a Francis MacDonald-penned BMX Bandits song. With their love for Sixties Pop/Psych, Sixties Girl Groups and the works of Mr. Brian Wilson, they (Ryan, in particular) daydreamed of singing The Beach Boys' "Don't Worry Baby" in the original key Brian Wilson intended. Lorelie thought it wasn't a good idea, so songs were written, scratched, then re-written but only one was recorded. "A Summer Escape" was more of a draft, like a trial version of a premium cable channel, or a free recording software with that annoying click track. In other words, a cheap attempt to sound like an outtake of "The Beach Boys Love You" Album. Bah! Not even close!
Because Apple Orchard don't accept Requests from bands, we've been able to link up. I even sent an e-mail to AO's website contact address begging to be accepted....but nothing so far.
