About me:
What Is LiveWire?
LiveWire Peer Support Network is an online community of teenagers and college students that is first and foremost made for support, but also provides a growing number of other services. Our primary mission is to provide a way for teenagers to support each other by being able to both request and recieve support from their peers, and give support to other teens around the globe.
How does LiveWire work?
LiveWire works through a "forum" or "bulletin board" style system which was designed completely by high school students. LiveWire is divided into numerous categories where teens support each other by discussing the problems and issues they each face in these often challenging years on the road to adulthood.
Why should I join LiveWire?
We believe that our support system is a beneficial one to teens because it gives teens the opportunity to ask serious questions anonymously that they might otherwise be too embarassed or ashamed to ask. Also, LiveWire provides several options for seeking support that include our forums, resource lists (lists of informational websites and toll-free hotlines exclusively for teens), eHelp, which is a rapid response message system that only users who have demonstrated a record of providing helpful caring support, who are called Support Leaders, can reply. Also, we encourage a supportive atmosphere by rewarding members for providing helpful advice.
