    To our children
    we leave them with memories
and hope we guided them well
    with love so strong
that it will never fade away.
    To our children
    may our love always endure
to be there to comfort and secure
may God bless all of them. AMEN

Last night, I planted my can down at my local and read #3 cover to cover (not my story, though). I loved it.
Great job by the writers (not me, though) and great job putting it together (you)! I loved your bit concerning the butt area of your dress not fitting as well as it once had…too funny! Cheers -denis

Sans the piece I read last week, I read GP from cover to cover tonight while hitting the bar. Let’s just say those around me found me a loon as I hysterically laughed at your step-wives piece. Great stuff! Though, I think I will submit something to try and give your zine some texticles.
    Cheers-denis

Blurbs

About me:

indiebound

Gonzo Parenting is a fresh, funky zine for parents who live in the real world.

What is Gonzo Parenting? Read on...

From Wikipedia:

Gonzo journalism is a style of journalism which is written subjectively, often including the reporter as part of the story via a first person narrative. The style tends to blend factual and fictional elements to emphasize an underlying message and engage the reader. The word Gonzo was first used in 1970 to describe an article by Hunter S. Thompson, who later popularized the style. The term has since been applied to other subjective artistic endeavors. Gonzo journalism tends to favor style over accuracy and often uses personal experiences and emotions to provide context for the topic or event being covered. It disregards the 'polished' edited product favored by newspaper media and strives for the gritty factor. Use of quotes, sarcasm, humor, exaggeration, and even profanity is common. The use of Gonzo journalism portends that journalism can be truthful without striving for objectivity and is loosely equivalent to an editorial.

From the Gonzo Mama:

Gonzo Parenting looks for work in the tradition of gonzo journalism, written by and for parents who throw themselves into the act of parenting with enthusiasm and zeal... even if they have no clue what they are doing.

..BUY GONZO PARENTING!..
Learn how here.

Who I'd like to meet:

Parents who live in the real world, single parents, non-custodial parents, parents in prison, deadbeat parents, parents of blended families, same-sex parents, parents of special needs children, parents who have trouble applying conventional advice to their lives... Parents with real problems and real solutions. Parents who don't always get it right but keep trying. Parents who aren't afraid to fall flat on their faces, in spite of their best intentions... YOU.

..ATTENTION WRITERS..

Gonzo Parenting is currently looking for content for their upcoming issue. We are looking for essays and articles by parent-writers that are imperfect, honest, and hip. We don't take kindly to perfect parents (or those who think they are), religion-bashing or overtly political subjects. Have a bone to pick with a deadbeat parent? Want to talk about how new legislation affects your family? Want to give real advice (not Dr. Spock's) on how to survive parenthood? Gonzo Parenting is looking for you!
