Imagine the perfect summer party mix, spun by the ultimate hype-DJ.

Exploding out of the ever-vibrant music community of Canada’s West Coast is the Vancouver quintet Goodbye Beatdown – here to move the millions with their grinding lightning groove.

Melding the best dance-floor elements of roots-rock, reggae, electric blues, funk, soul, and urban hip-hop into a modern boogie mélange they recall the energy of Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers while maintaining a sound and image all their own. Goodbye Beatdown’s true powers have been the unending series of overheated, sweat-drenched capacity crowds they’ve captivated at Vancouver’s most prestigious venues – including the acclaimed Commodore Ballroom and sadly missed Richard’s on Richards. They’ve shared stages with such seemingly disparate notables as Bif Naked, Default, Finger Eleven and Sean Kingston and have more than held their own- winning every crowd, every time.

No matter where they’re gigging – the Canadian Prairies, Toronto, California – it’s scorching high noon in mid-July, both in attitude and in sheer sonic sweat-out.

Former battle-rapper and tireless party whirlwind Dustin Overhill (vocals, lyrics) sought out mellow-yet-sharp electric guitar samurai Sean Simpson, who together with Bulgarian import percussionist extraordinare Brani Shibilev laid the early groundwork for their rock' n roll future.

Ex-Daniel Wesley bassist Mark Luongo slalomed his way into the better gig, adding an additional dosage of crackerjack musicianship, passionate determination, and a strong-willed sense of purpose to a band that was already soaking wet with those attributes. As if it couldn’t get any better than this, DJ James Kennedy was coaxed from a burgeoning radio career into the lineup with his tasteful touch on the turntables and encyclopedic knowledge of popular music.

Along with their rapidly-expanding street vibe as Vancouver’s newest and best party band, Goodbye Beatdown are also the proud 2009 champions of CFOX radio's prestigious Seeds competition- Canada's longest running and most distinguished independent music showcase. Previous winners include Matthew Good, State of Shock and Nickelback. This springboard opportunity gives them access to consultation and mentorship from Agency Group President Ralph James, Rob Lanni and Eric Lawrence of Coalition Entertainment (Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan) and Maple Music General Manager (former Senior VP of A&R at Universal Canada) Allan Reid. Not bad for a band which only truly sprang into being in March 2009.

Beach party? Nightclub at midnight? Summer festival with roaring bonfires? Houserocker? Houseboat? Skatepark? It’s all open game and grounds for grooving when Goodbye Beatdown flip the on-switch and as their sayonara-to-the-diss-out name hints, they're driven by a promise of good times ahead...good times to which they will provide the eternal ass-shaking soundtrack.

Np, pretty live beat. I'm gonna say Believe Us, and that's likely because I'm more inclined to enjoy reggae fused stuff.

and as far as tickets selling out, lets put it this way: i tried to get presale 40min after it started and they were all gone so i have no idea how quickly those went and general sale were gone in 16min or something crazy like that.
it's gonna be a packed house for sure and i'm looking forward to it haha!
if i see you boys around that night, i'll be sure to get you a drink so you can catch up with the rest of us lol

you can call it dedication but it gave me a good excuse to call in to work the next day as i was "sick" lol
and of course i got tickets to the commodore!
had to lie to my boss and say i had an MRI appointment i've been on a cancellation list for so i could get out of work early
but it's all good
i made sure to book off the day following so i can fully tear it up all night on the 8th lol
and despite the fact i've already seen you 3 times since september, i still love seeing you boys live
so as usual, make it a good one eh? haha
cheers
